Please read!! I ain't happy

Hi guys, I just wanted to let anyone who is interested in myers masks, who live in the u.k know about the custom charges that I’ve been hit with lately. Mark from knifegloves sent my hero glove (usps priority airmail with the value of under 40$) and brilliant, no charges. Addison sent a tommy 2.0 blank, same again,no charges. I just recieved a blood brother and mr skinister blanks from bob(mmfx) and I’ve been hit for 35$. And to make matters worse,i’ve been waiting since oct last year on a Jason remake blank from spaz, I’ve just got word from customs that I’ll have to pay another 56$ on that. If I had known about these charges then I wouldn’t have bothered. Be careful guys!!

The reason you didn’t pay much on the first two items is because the shipper set the $$$ amount of the mask low. Bob and Spaz probably put the actual value at what you paid, because if it was lost or damaged on it’s way over, you would only be refunded on what was declared.

Complain to the governments in those countries… it definitely isn’t Brandon or Bob’s fault that they add customs fees.

If anything, Brandon and Bob did the ‘right’ thing by covering their own asses in case the packages went missing. If the full value wasn’t marked, there would be no way to get all the $ back to you.

Also when a package is insured, it requires marking the full value.

Sorry that you’re upset… but this thread is unwarranted imo. People pay customs fees every day and don’t complain.

Consider it a valuable lesson learned.

he isn’t saying its their fault, he is just surprised. i know what you mean, when i got my mask from bob and my mask from halloweenfan i had to pay. i think it depends on the company that delivers or maybe bob and some others have them shipped priority so they get the best shipment possible. it is no ones fault at all, it is something to do with vat and taxes in our stupid country, lol, but i was also shocked. it has happened to me twice but now it doesn’t bother me, i just prepare now incase! i think it is worth it in the end lol! :sunglasses:

I know what Chad is saying here.Even though it may not be pointing fingers at Bob and Spaz, sometimes people read stuff like this and they get the wrong idea and COULD feel those people involved were responsible.

i know what you mean by customs fees .

here in the UK all parcels sent from outside the EU can be subject to customs fees .
i myself have been told by customs that the inspection of items coming into the UK are random , this is total CRAP

this does seem funny because everytime i get a mask from outside the EU i get charged customs fees ,
how is this random ??? there is no point in taking this matter to the goverment here in the UK as we get charged really
high tax and they are frightend that we may save money by buying from abroad , so the goverment will continue to charge these fees . . the people in the goverment are a joke and just need all there heads cutting off . .

although the quality of the masks from outside the EU are great , i also buy from Nik at NAG because hes work
in my opinion is one of the best , as NIK is based in greece my masks arrive quicker and with out any customs fees .

I’m not saying that Sean is pointing fingers… but yes, it can come across that way.

But what I’m saying is that marking a package below the actual value to avoid customs fees is ILLEGAL. Sometimes they even catch you… yes, it happens.

There are tons of guys who do it to save other guys money… but it can create problems.

So while one guy may be praising members for ‘saving’ them fees… others may complain that a package was lost and the full value wasn’t marked.

Double edged sword. So now one party or the other is screwed and pissed off.

Long story short though… now I always mark my ‘overseas’ packages w/ the exact value and offer insurance to the buyer.

That way I am in no way responsible for lost packages and we’re both covered. Customs fees are peanuts compared to the dollar value on some rare collectibles.

I myself paid many hundreds of $/EU for customs fees in the last few years.
you have to live with it!

Its asinine what customs charges for packages to come through the country.I have shipped overseas but I truly hate to.I have never ordered anything from overseas.I even hate shipping to canada or mexico.I know people have to ship overseas but Ive heard so many horror stories about packages being lost, seized, or stolen its pathetic.Once a person ships the package thats all they can do.I have marked the value of an item lower than it was because the guy asked me to.I guess you live and learn bro.Good luck with getting your items.

:open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:
WHAT!!!
I marked it as a gift and a value at $11.00
and it cost me $37.15 to ship

I have no clue why they would want you to pay

Sorry guys, been working all day. I’m not mad at spaz or bob,it’s just I wasn’t expecting the fees to be that high. Spaz, I don’t know what has happened , if you say you sent it as a gift at 11.00$ then I believe you. I’ve just paid the fees today so I hav’nt received the parcel yet. It’ll probably come tomorrow, I guess. I just wanted to let anyboby who is based in the u.k know what to expect. Bob and spaz are good guys, and they done me a good deal. I was just a bit shocked. :open_mouth:

Ive found that when i have items sent to me in canada, and they come through a courier, not the regualr mail (like UPS or Fed ex) that i get hit with a customs fee…Ive started asking the people i deal with to send items to me through the regular USPS rather than a courier.

i just think at the end of the day, these packages are protected by the fees so that makes it all worth it. it really doesn’t bother me paying the fee, my masks are soooo worth it!

I have been stung on two Vader lids (about $200 each) and Walter Payton helmet (about $350)…would have been cheaper to book a flight and collect in person…!

yeah bro I have the customs paper right here
I keep all of my mail info till the ppl I send to get there stuff

dont get me wrong i dont mind paying the customs fees i really dont because the masks are well worth it .
ok if the customs officers were to say that everything coming into the UK there will be a fee to pay then thats fine with me.
as i said i dont mind paying the fee for a awesome mask .

its just the fact that when they say to you on the phone that items are randomly picked out for fees
you know thats total CRAP .
over the years ive had about 20 masks coming into the UK from outside the EU and thats not counting the masks ive
got now and out of those 20 masks ive had to pay fees on 18 of them . . its just the stories you get told by the customs officers that winds me up thats all .

yeah, i know what you mean bro, this country is crap!!! :unamused:

yeah i totally agree with you bro this country is crap and getting worse.

Random… Well over here I’ve tended to notice they pick out the parcels with the highest value…
