Police Shoot Guy Wearing Michael Myers Mask

Hey guys,

Was checking news online from around the U.S. and found this…guy wearing Michael Myers mask shot by police after refusing to drop knife. Now I’m a cop and I could only imagine a guy running at me wearing a Michael Myers mask refusing to drop a knife…it would be crazy.

‘Halloween’ masked man critical after police shooting
By Barbara Boyer

A Pine Hill man who police say wore a slasher-movie mask as he charged at them with a knife was in critical condition Friday after being shot by the officers, according to Camden County officials.

James Cline, 37, the 1000 block of Cranford Drive, remained at Cooper University Hospital with multiple wounds, said Jason Laughlin, spokesman for the county Prosecutor’s Office.

Cline reportedly summoned police to his own address with a report about a prowler.

“There was no prowler. It appears he made up a story about a prowler and described himself,” Laughlin said.

Cline allegedly made the 911 call about 9:30 p.m. Thursday and reported there was a bandit wearing a mask in the neighborhood.

Three Pine Hill officers and one from neighboring Clementon responded and knocked on Cline’s door. When there was no answer, they walked around the property.

That’s when Cline jumped from behind a bush and charged at police with a kitchen knife, Laughlin said. He was wearing a mask portraying Michael Myers of the classic Halloween slasher flicks. The Myers character is a child-murderer who escapes from a mental institution after 15 years and kills a series of teenagers, the spokesman said.

Police shot Cline after he ignored an order to drop the knife, Laughlin said. The shooting remains under investigation by local and county authorities.

Authorities said they knew of Cline through previous encounters, but declined to elaborate. According to public records, he was convicted last year of simple assault and put on probation for a year.

Cline recently moved into the quiet neighborhood to live with his father after his mother died, said Kevin Lederer, who lives next door.

“The cops only come down this street to turn around. There are never any problems,” Lederer said.

“It was pretty scary last night because I have a 3-year-old and I heard shots. I took my daughter to the basement and made sure my family was safe.”

OMFG Stop it!
