I would like to see rosenthals cut just because I am a die hard fan. Halloween II is and always has been my favorite Halloween of the entire franchise. If I had it my way the 30th anniversary edition on dvd would be a 2 disc set with ALL cuts of the movie available, a documentary, and interviews!
My vote would also go to a “Rosenthal Version” because you could not possibly use seamless branching from a theatrical cut.
The TV Cut is a totally different version and even starts out with the credits being seen first. So, in order to have a “true” TV Cut that is how it has to start out.
A “Theatrical Cut” with some of the “Rosenthal” footage could happen ie: Lights go out, Janet warns Karen, Laurie dreams but that would not be a true “Rosenthal” Version. To truly experience a “Halloween II” like it was made would be to release a “Rosenthal Version” by it’s self and let it be judged; I believe it’s about 1 hour and 45 minutes long and completely different than the “Halloween II” that we know.
Read the book, that is what Rick Rosenthal filmed.
I would enjoy an uncut version of HII with lots of extra TV shot scenes mixed in and master on either regular DVD or BlueRay immensely
Hell Yeah!!!
