Hey Guys
I’m pondering weather or not to get my HSS converted myers mask signed by John Carpenter at monster mania and I need your opinions. If I get the mask signed I will never wear it again and I will worry about signatures getting smudged or rub off. Also, if i do decide, should I get the outside or inside flap signed? I’m already getting an 11 X 17 poster signed by him, but I was debating the mask too…I’m the type of person that likes to wear and mess around with masks. I just think a John Carpenter sig on the outside flap would make it an amazing piece…help!
I’d say yes. I understand your delema and it’s a tough choice for sure but you have a pretty special mask there. Just think of how special it would be to you to have Carpenter’s signature on there. I think if I had the chance to and didn’t, I’d regret it. You can always have James convert you another mask, but unless you live next door to John Carpenter, it’s going to be kind of rough to get his signature any other time. I’d say if you have the chance to go for it. I’d have him sign it on the outter side of the neck, get a nice case for it and display it as the center of your collection.
Just my oppinion…I understand it’s a tough choice though.

Get it signed on the inside flap, and have that signature sealed. There is a certain sealen’t that would protect it from rubbing on from sweat, this way you can still wear it and not ever worry it comming off, hope this helps…Dean
Hell yes got it signed, you will always get the chance to get another mask to wear, but you might not ever get the chance to get one signed by JC himself.
I am so jealous of all you guys n gals that are going to monster mania, have loads of fun.
This very well could be a once in a life time experience brother. Go for it! And like previously mentioned they do have things that can seal the sig. Win win situation if you ask me.
Get it signed… it will up the value and be a nice mask for your collection. Personally I’d get it signed on the inside with the makers marks. It’s really your choice (and your mask) and not a decision that can be made by anyone else.
I vote No - if you plan on wearing it. ANYTHING you do with it runs the risk of damage - even sealing it if done improperly. However, if you could pick up another mask for wearing, and retire this one for display, it would look nice. In this case, I’d say have it signed on the outter neck, but visible for display. My feeling is, if I were looking to purchase a John Carpenter signed mask, I wouldn’t want to have to handle the mask to view the signature.
If it were me man, I’d get it signed.
I’ve never been to a convention and I’d look at this opportunity as the last chance to get JC to sign my mask.
If you don’t get it signed, you might regret it.
Jimi, well it all depends. If you wear your masks allot I say no. But if you’re going to use this particular mask as a display piece I say go for. Where Todd got his Warlock signed is perfect. Get it signed on the back of the neck. I think getting a sweet Myers mask signed by the man himself is out of sight. Good luck J.
I voted yes. You have more than one mask, so pick a mask that you know you will always wear, and one that you won’t. Get the one that you won’t wear, and have him sign it wherever you prefer. This way you have the best of both worlds. One mask that you can wear, and one that is the ultimate collectors item.
