Possibly, the crazyist idea ever!

Hi guys, I was just thinking, and I got the crazyist idea!

ready…

I would buy a kirk mask (NAG H78 Kirk) and pay Tommy Lee Wallace to convert it!! Exacly like the movie! How much do you think he would charge if he would do it?

-Nick
p.s. I told you it was crazy!

Do it!

That’s actually a neat idea. Imagine, a Myers mask converted by the same guy who did it for the movie? haha, hell I might even try that.

and I also know how to contact him!

It would probably look like caca but it’s still a neat idea. I say, go for it! Get a H78 blank from Nik!

It would be neat even if they came out OK or average…Let me know how that goes…But I think another member here tried that and got denied…I forget who but I think TW said no because it has been so long since he did eye cuts he wouldnt want to screw them up…But I say give it a shot bro…You never know he may just say yes and nail them…And what better of mask to try them on than a NAG H78…I hope you get it done my man…Later dude

That is a very cool idea! I really hope it works out for you  .

_Some one needs to get him to do one up.

I wish someone would sculpt a Dick warlock and Nick Castle bust for our masks to be displayed on. Thats my dream display. Sorry back on topic._

Not a crazy idea at all! I would love to see his take on a blank Kirk these days after so many years. I bet there would be a lot more pressure on him now than then  But remember, the Hero was not nice or pretty. And any replica conversion these days can only get that special look with certain camera angles, lighting and like Matt said… the accurate head shape or (a) head shape that best distorts the mask to a heroish look. Never again will there be a perfect Hero replica, it’s impossible. But some nice worn replicas out there indeed! Again, not a crazy idea at all dude! I like it very much.

JC

It doesn’t matter if you get even TLW to convert the mask. It won’t turn out the same as it did in '78.

Dont get a Blank!!!

Have it painted up like a Kirk first, including the eyebrows. Then get TLW to convert it.

Yeah man, when I said “blank Kirk” I actually meant a pristine, unaltered, finished Kirk, not a “Kirk blank”. I think that would be pretty much awesomeness

JC

Who needs TLW when we have JC

 yeah, right! Whatever man~!

JC

Well, even James can’t recreate the hero 100% but he can about 99%. He’s the best we have and need IMO.

i second that back on topic

I third that one Randall, LOL!!
seriously tho, James you ARE the definative & most accurate coversion artist, period. IMHO

Tony

One of two possible things will occur following my post. 1) People will flame away and it’ll get ugly, or 2) For once, we’ll have a nice healthy discussion with pictures and proof of what I’m about to say.

Before I go ANY further, I’ll say this, we as collectors are as privilaged as we’ve E V E R been for not only the great sculpts we have, but also for the few outstanding conversion artists we have here. But I’m not sure there is a “king” at this point. TLW couldn’t replicate the hero at this stage of the game even if he tried. The hero happened by accident, nothing more. Lightning doesn’t strike twice like that, and him converting one now would prove that.

As for the artists we have here, they’re amazing. All of them have serious talent, but here’s where I’ll likely get flamed by some of our members. Now remember, HEALTHY DEBATE, not hate and anger etc.

To me as a fan and collector, one thing has to be FLAWLESS for a mask to have thee look we all strive for in our collection. That thing in question, are the eyecuts. IMO, only one of our artists here has done so. AHG. This is NOT, I repeat, N O T a shot at anyone, but an opinion on the topic by simply looking at screen caps in HD, behind the sceens pics, and comparing them to our artists renditions here on the board.

I’m 32 years old, and first saw Halloween at age 3 (…by accident) and have been in love with it ever since. I’ve seen every angle, every pic, every screencap you can fathom etc, but only one converter has ever done it right, AHG.

Now, instead of the typical debate styles that normally occur here, let’s keep it pro all the way, no harsh B.S., just poinient debate with real examples and explainations for our thoughts.

I’ll go first. When looking at the hero dead on from a viewers POV, the eye cut on the left is completely clean and very droopy and rounded. Now, the eye cut on the right, is very unclean and has DISTINCT angles and cut-patern changes. This is evident everywhere in pics and screecaps, especially in HD Bluray screencaps. And this is one fact that doesn’t fall victim to the “depends on who’s wearing it” debate, you can see the right-eye differences in the closet scene with TLW and you can see it in the Castle worn shots. Very distinct angle cutting on the right eye.

Colin, JC, MCS etc, all have eye cuts that are “too clean” and “pretty” looking in comparison to the hero on screen. And most often, the eye cuts are too small and placed too close together infact.

Now again, no bashing, no hate in your responses please. This is civil and professional discussion we’re having. I love EVERYTHING about Colin, JC, MCS’ work, from hair and paint etc. But the eyes are almost always off. However, in the most recent ‘Pics of the Day’ thread, JC posted a pic of a blank he’s working on, and THOSE eyecuts look GREAT. Correct size, dimensions and even the right eye has some of those distinct angles in the cutting.

Now, if we could borrow James’ Delorean, set the flux compassitor to 88mph and head to Pasedena circa 1978, we might all be in great shape for the best conversion on this planet LOL!

Hmmm… Please reread your quote below from an earlier post of yours and answer one question for me. If Mike at AHGs eyecuts are the most SCREEN ACCURATE in your opinion then why on earth would you even consider reshaping them on your MINT 75 no matter who requested it? Wouldn’t you just simply say… Oh no, you can’t correct perfection :unamused: It appears not because you went ahead and modified it anyways.
