Post pics of your 1985/1986 Don Post "The Mask"

Please post some pictures of “The Mask” if you have any :tonqe: It doesn’t matter if it has some latex rot or badly rotten away, I just want to see how many there are in the hands of Michael-Myers.net community and the conditions they are in! I’m growing very fond of The Mask for some reason

Here’s mine. It looked brand new 3 years ago, but sitting in a blistering shed in Mississippi certainly did some nasty work on it.

I actually still have an 85 in decent condition. A bit yellow and missing hair due to my dog. still love it

Wow that’s nasty but at least it has given it a vintage look! No matter how bad it has gotten, just don’t throw it away please! Better badly rotten DP 1985/1986 than wiped off its existence! Thanks for sharing! And I would have still loved it too! :sunglasses:

Great Thread!
Shame no one else has posted here, My first myers mask, Dam I loved it so much…as it goes…mine totally rotted :frowning:

Thanks Ben! Yeah it’s a shame, I was hoping to see more pics but I guess maybe they got rid of it. I know a guy who still has it in a really bad shape that it’s so awesome to look at & unbelievable that it’s still intact & still has it’s face & neck fully intact (“Amazing Mummy Myers” forum which was posted little over a year ago) but it’s so badly rotten beyond it’s recognition. I actually asked him if he would sell it for cheap but he turned it down bc he said he had so many memories with that mask lol, I don’t blame him though. But sadly he didn’t post new pics in this thread, maybe he didn’t see the thread. I was wanting to see if it has gotten any more worse. I think everyone overlooked the significance of The Mask bc it was the very FIRST myers replica mask made for the fans & 1 day they will be all gone! Which means the price for 1 in decent condition will go up as years pass by. Thanks for replying to this thread!

Hey There!
Sorry I couldnt sell you the mask. If you see the Amazing Mummy Myers thread it pretty much tells you why I don’t wish to sell. Anyone who wonders why I’d keep this Monster, The mask has duct tape on the inside alot of repaints and finnally sealed with plasti-dip. The neck has been put back together aswell. This mask has more work done to it then any mask in mm.net’s archive! I keep it around for memeries. It’s a mask I grew up with and have had on life support for many years. as of now with all the supports and plastidip I really dont see it going to much more on the dark side. I can see this holding up for awhile! and I do mean AWHILE! it’s just so pieced together! These are old pics (camera on the no go right now) but the mask is still in the same “shape”

Thanks for sharing! I don’t blame you for not wanting to sell it   I’m happy that your mask in being in good hands! & I didn’t realize that you had duct tapes on it, nice! I’m happy to hear that it’s going to be around for awhile my friend! :drinkers:

DP '85

I got this when I was 5 years old. That makes it 25 years I’ve had it.

Wow very nice! I’m glad you kept it in good condition, thanks for sharing!!!

I bought an 1985 Don post The Mask for only 10 bucks although its condition is not as decent as my 1986 The Mask (which is being foam filled at this moment), as you probably can see… I have grown very fond of The Mask regardless of its condition, this one was not taken good care of as it has a lot of dry rots and missing hair… It had turned yellow all over (I’m sure this one wasn’t flesh colored back in its good days)… One thing that bothers me about this mask is that it smells of cigarette smokes so bad that the previous owner possibly could have smoked while wearing the mask  because of this, I had to wrap the foam head in Wal-Mart bags before setting it on it so it wouldn’t pass on the smell :stuck_out_tongue: I’m gonna try to take best care of it until it totally rot, there’s no point in getting this one foam filled and it will be fun to see how it turns out in another 10 years compared to the foam filled 1 :drinkers: So if you have any The Mask that you want to get rid of, let me know!

Very nice James! I’m glad that you are fond of The Mask as well! :sunglasses: Yours look like you just returned from a visit to a costume store in 1985 with Marty McFly, love how your son can only see outta 1 eye hole! Too cute, thanks for sharing!
