How many pair are floating around in the hobby?

Saw your post on reddit. I have only seen a handful of 100% matching pairs (maybe 10 total), and even then, a few of those had the snap collar swapped for button so they weren’t originally 100%.

I have two pairs of Tradewears but one pair is navy with round pockets and snap collar, and one is what I think is Tex green but also has round pockets and snap collar (but I swapped a button/buttonhole) and use if for a bust as they were very small and stained.

That pair looks great!

Thanks, dude. I know there have not been many 100% accurate pair found so far. Ive been casually looking since the brand was figured out. I found these while scrolling Marketplace at 4 a.m before work. I wasnt 100% on the color, but one of the sellers photos showed the green stitching, and I knew they had to be tex. All the other features were clearly visable in their pictures. Such a wild find, especially this time of year.

For sure! If those were mine, I’d keep them in a tall garment bag or make a life size with them and get a close pair of Sears/Roebucks to wear as a costume! (because I’d worry about ruining them)

And that’s funny about the stitching- I also look for green stitching on coveralls that look grey in pictures- the stitching doesn’t change colors as much on Tex pairs and it is an indication that they are or might be Tex!

I’ve noticed that with coveralls, some people don’t know their Halloween significance and they’re just old work clothes to them- that’s when you can get good deals!

I have a life size I plan to use them on. The seller’s father wore them as a sprinkler installer. Im surprised they held up so well. I guess they were found in his closet, and tossed up on Marketplace. It seemed kind of sketchy, as they insisted on only shipping them, even considering I was somewhat local. I was sent a picture of the shipping label, which had a number that wasnt trackable for just about a day. They used some third party shipping app that sells you the label, and picks up items and drops them off at ups for you. Luckily I had them in the hands the day after I ordered them. There was one maple leaf in the bottom of the box. It was so strange, but fitting.

That’s funny! Depending on the price, it was probably a risk worth taking though! The fact that they’re kind of used/worn is actually cool, you could use them on a life size and weather/dirty them up a bit without worry. If I found a pair in pristine or even very good condition, they’d have to remain that way. Maybe they wanted to ship them only because they were worried about someone knowing where they lived, or being robbed. Your pair is one of the best I’ve seen as far as color, they don’t look faded at all and I can see green, grey, and blue in them AND the green stitching!

I wonder if we’ll ever someday see a brand-new pair with tags that someone had in the back of their closet! Lots of people, myself included, buy multiples of clothes they really like. I know there was a green pair of Sears Perma Prest, brand new in the cardboard sleeve from the late 70’s or so, on ebay not too long ago.

I appreciate the kind words. I’m honestly happy I found a naturally worn in pair. I dont care much for the weathering process, it always just looks kind of forced. It would be cool to find a brand new pair, though. The legend is that production most likely borrowed the screen used pair, and going by the date this specific variantion of Tradewears were produced, they were probably worked in for close to 10 years. Now I’m really pressed to find a 102-12  Hopefully lightning strikes twice.

Here is my mint condition 46R pair on an old sears hanger.

Im not sure they’ve even been washed. The fabric is still pretty stiff.
