Can someone elaborate for me? I’ve read in a couple places that ppl trim the neck about a half inch. Is that because the TOTS that we receive is longer than what’s used in the movie? Or just because it looks better or what?
And as far as the actual trimming, do you just make a mark half inch up all the way around and use a scissors?

I have seen at least one behind the scenes shot where one of the screen used masks has a longer neck too.
Because it’s longer than the hero. When I went to crypticon this summer, I met Chris Nelson (the dude who made the masks for the film) and we compared my H40 to his screenused copy, and we immediately noticed how the neck was longer.
