Hey everyone how’s it going? I purchased a Castle 75k blank from Nikos this week and I requested it to be sent to James Carter to finish it. The long wait is not a concern for me, he does know on fb who I am and that I purchased the blank and requested to have him finish it. My question is, how long before you speak to James about how you want it finished and to give him your general contact information and address etc.,?

When the pull is complete and its sent to James?
I think what happens is you contact James on fb and let him know your name, address, contact info like email, etc and what exactly you purchased from nikos. You also let him know how you want the blank finished, what kind of paint apps youre looking for etc. Then the waiting game begins, in 4 or 5 years when youre up in james list or close to he contacts you just to confirm the details and all that. Once he is done he sends it you, thats it. While i have never done i believe more or less thats how it goes from what i have been told from others. If it was me i would pay for the blank but ask nikos to do the pull in 2 years, that way its still a somewhat recent pull when its sent to james. Or i would ask for a medium to thick pull since youre not going to be getting it in the next 4-5 years so might as well be a thicker pull than thin as depending on how its stored, etc the thin pulls rot quicker than thicker pulls.
I did ask for a size 24" medium pull so glad I did that
I contacted James after I purchased my NO Creep/Shat blank and told him my info and that the blank was being shipped to him directly. He contacted me once my mask was next in line for him to finish and got all of my details and preferences. He stayed in touch with me through out the process and delivered the exact mask/finish that I had requested. He is absolutely the BEST in the business and worth the wait!

Guys, help! I think I screwed up big time here, I wasn’t aware i had to be on a waiting list for JC before I could go ahead and purchase a blank from Nik. Do I request a refund from Nik, get on JC’s list and buy a blank 4-5 years from now or tell Nik to wait awhile until my time on JC’s list is up?

Get Rowland to do it. Less time waiting and just as good in my opinion. JC is overrated BIG time
I don’t think he is overrated haha. He doesn’t charge an outrageous price for overhauls.
But people are selling his work for crazy amounts.
Overrated? No chance. Best of the best. Proof is in the final product. He’s been in this game a long time.

The 2K will always be my fave pic & one that I could never replicate. There are other quality guys out there no doubt but in no way is JC overrated. That’s gotta be one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen on this board

He really has and like you had said before there are alot of good artists in this hobby and quite a few have really gotten better over the years. I really don’t like to pin artists up against each other as far as who’s better and all that. It’s kind of like the unwritten rule u just don’t do that so I wouldn’t start doing that here . I do think however Rowand does some really good work. Definitely upper echelon for sure. So this is not about this talented artist. As far as James goes we all know the talent. The magic. The dedication and true professionalism he brings to the table for every customer he does work for. I really don’t think anyone here would question that I mean to have a waiting list as long as he does for his services speaks for itself. If James was overrated his waiting time wouldn’t be like half a decade right?
Ok ok. So I am wrong. I am new to all this and got his work mixed up with someone else. I actually just for a mask from him and man he is number 1. So scratch what I said.
You have 12 masks in your collection but you’re new to this ? Lol and one of the 12 happens to be a JC FEAR MASK but u got his work confused with someone else? Lol yea I know.
