1-Castle and Warlock.
The rest, you can line them up however you like.

My top 2 are

Chris Durand
Nick Castle
James Jude Courtney
Chris Durand
Tyler Mane
George P. Wilbur
Brad Loree
Donald L. Shanks & Dick Warlock
Nick Castle
Dick Warlock
Going to agree with others here that the rest could go in any order, although I would say that Chris Durand is probably the worst in my opinion.
The only one I wasn’t a fan of at all was Wilbur. Michael was supposed to be stoic but he was so stiff and robotic it was painful to me. But Castle, Warlock and Courtney were all excellent in my book.

Everyone else honestly blows to me.
Even Warlock, I don’t understand the love he gets.
I get that they were probably taking direction from the director, but the way everyone else moves in x100 slow motion is laughably bad to me.
Perhaps a better way to do this:
Most like Nick Castle:
Chris Durand
James Jude Courtney
Brad Loree
Dick Warlock
Don Shanks
George Wilbur/A. Michael Lerner
Tyler Mane
Least like Nick Castle:
Best slasher, irrespective of being Castle-like:
James Jude Courtney
George Wilbur/A. Michael Lerner
Tyler Mane
Brad Loree
Dick Warlock
Chris Durand
Don Shanks
I’ll take my shot at it, based on the same criteria as Leaving Hope. I’ll be excluding Nick Castle from this ranking because LITERALLY EVERYONE puts him at the top for obvious reason. XD
Most like Nick Castle:
~~Chris Durand/James Jude Courtney: These two, irrespective of Nick Castle, ARE the Shape. They take top pick for this category literally because they embody everything the Shape is. They also improve on, or showcase qualities of The Shape the average person doesn’t really remember: the voyeurism (more-so with Durand), the relatively smooth and fluid movements, and the decorating/placing of bodies in hidden jumpscare places. This needed to be stated: Both of these actors ARE the Shape, and if Chris Durand
~~Literally everyone else: There’s no contest. None of them match the movements, the mannerisms, etc. of Nick Castle except maybe Dick Warlock, and even then he really doesn’t. Each are their own distinctive Shapes that do not emulate Castle; they, in fact, emulate more of Dick Warlock’s movements, who Debra Hill said that he didn’t even get right himself.
Best slasher, irrespective of being Castle-like:
~~James Jude Courtey/Tyler Mane: As much as I dislike Tyler Mane as The Shape, man makes for a fantastic slasher, a terrifying one. And James Jude Courtney brings a more subduded, but equally sinister slasher vibe to the role. Mane in particular I appreciate as a slasher simply for how brutal he is. There is Evil in doing something in anger or rage. Though I would never call Tyler Mane the definitive Shape, Tyler Mane’s Michael Myers is, bar none, up there with James Jude Courtney, who knocks it out of the park, particularly in '18, as an effective killer.
~~George Wilbur/A. Michael Lerner
~~Dick Warlock/Brad Loree
~~Chris Durand
~~Literally everyone else
Yeah, I actually think Durand was better at being the Nick Castle Myers than JJC - his body type most closely resembles Castle and his movements are more fluid. but I don’t know that it’s as “cool” a portrayal as some of the more Jasonlike ones.
- Nick Castle
- James Jude Courtney
- George P. Wilbur
I would toss Dick Warlock up there as well but I enjoy Mr. Wilbur’s movement just a tad more. The rest are alright IMO. I enjoy some more than others and am not a fan of a couple but we’ll leave it at that lol. Love these lists though so far.
- Dick Warlock
- James Jude Courtney
- Nick Castle
- Tyler Mane
- Don Shanks
- George P. Wilbur
- Airon Armstrong
- Tom Morga
- A. Michael Lerner
- Brad Loree
- Brad Hardin
- Chris Durand
Forgot about Morga. He was absolutely terrific in what little we got to see of him.
