As some of you may already know from my H1 knife rivets topic, I bought a Dexter off eBay at a great price an superb condition the other day. Well, was leaving for class this afternoon (I was literally pulling out of the driveway), when the mail truck pulls up and I spot the carrier place inside my box, a long thin package. I figured, it couldn’t be here already! It’s been less than a week! I grabbed the box, and sure enough it was my knife! Unable to open it at the time, I stuffed it in my bag and had to wait all the way through class to unwrap this beast. I’ve been hunting for either a vintage Dexter or Lamson for a few months now. I know James makes fantastic replicas, but to me there’s no other feeling than holding real steel in your hand. Most on eBay were either in bad shape, not what I wanted, or outside of my price range. I didn’t finally speed up my hunt, though, until my original run TOTS knife (without the extended inner support) finally fell apart and I was in need of a new H1 knife. So, without further stalling, here she is…
And you’re right… there’s nothing like real steel in your hand. I also have a real knife. But I’m afraid to take it out during Halloween because technically we can get in trouble for running around with such a weapon. So it’s just for display purposes. Again… great score!
