Hi everyone, just recently placed an order for my first pair of Red Kap Twill Action Back Spruce Green Coveralls off of eBay that’s a size up of my 40” chest size (a 42R), but I have a concern. Do the Coveralls shrink if were to throw it into a washing machine then a dryer? If so, does it shrink a lot or just a little?
just a little, they are mostly polyester I guess, if its only 35 percent cotton they will only shrink 2 percent or something.
If your concerned about shrinking them, just dry them on the clothesline outside instead of a dryer, its the hot dry that is shring them and use cold water in your machine. Then you dont have to worry about shrinkage at all

Cold wash and hang to dry. No lost tbh that method
With Red Kaps, always order a size or two up. They’re so damn small. I get 40R with my 38” chest
My pair of Red Kap Coveralls came in the mail today, test-fitted them and its not too baggy nor tight, just a happy medium. only issue is that the legs and sleeves are a little long for my tastes (I’m about 5’ 6") so maybe ill wash it and hem up the sleeves and pant legs.
I should have a new pair arriving tomorrow. A 38R was super snug and a pain to move around in. I am normally a 38R in a sport coat. I ordered a 42R so I can post pics when they are in. I figured 2 sizes up should make for a pretty decent fit. Hoping it works out.

Notice the Sleeves and Pant Legs are a bit long.
Also, is it typical that these Red Kap Coveralls have loose threading?
So how do you guys hem these things? Fold the cuff inside and sew them? Trim off a certain amount of the cuff, fold in and sew it?
measure what you want to cut off and add seam allowance
