Red Kap owners! Sizing question for you...

I’d like to order a new pair of coveralls today or tomorrow, as soon as I get some opinions. When you bought your red kaps, did you measure your chest exactly and then order that size or did you order one size up? I hear the red kaps run small so I don’t want to order them too snug. I’m also 5’10", regular or long inseam? I don’t want too baggy on the legs either :stuck_out_tongue:

I would order at one or two chest sizes up and short. I’m about the same size. Plus if it’s cold you’ll be happy to have a bit of extra room to wear some warmer clothes under the coveralls.

If you’re 5’10" and under 200 lbs. order a 42 Reg.

My chest measures 40" and I would be afraid that a 44" would be too big. I just want that fitted look of the H1 coveralls. I weight 165lbs if that matters.

Don’t know if this helps much. I’m also 5’10" and I weigh about 170. Normally, for work I wear a size 40 Regular jacket from just about any company that makes suit jackets. I bought a pair of Red Kaps about 10 years ago and grabbed them in a 40R. I can fit in them, but they are a bit snugger than I would prefer. If I bought another pair, I’d go for a 42R instead. But, I can and do still wear the 40R. Got the 40R on in my avatar.

Anybody know how the Reed Spruce Green coveralls run?

Sorry for the mess up earlier in this thread. I just checked my coveralls and they’re a 42 regular.

Thanks guys, I had a feeling that a 44 would be too big. How large is your chest Slasher? Like I said, I’m 40" but don’t want the coveralls to be too big. Since I heard that the Red Kaps run small, I was considering 42 anyway.

Bass4, where are the 40R’s too snug? Chest? Length? It looks good in your avatar though

I too came across those Reed coveralls, on Ebay though, I’m guessing that’ where you came across them? Killer price too, not very good pics though, lol.

A lot of the guys around here use the Reed ones for the color and structure (or so I gather).

For me, the Kaps are snug from the crotch to the shoulder. They are a bit of a pain in the ass to pull up in the upper body area for that reason. Once they are on, the fit isn’t bad but I’d go for a 42 if I did it again.

Gotcha, thanks for the info. I might try the Reed ones, and then Red Kap if those don’t work out. I just e-mailed the guy on ebay selling the Reed brand to see his thoughts on sizing

@MaskObsession Once you find out the sizing for the Reeds, can you please tell me if the sizing is the same as the Red Kaps, as I am the same height, and was also thinking about buying some Reeds. Thanks!

Absolutely! I’m talking to the guy right now so well see. I MIGHT order both sizes depending on his return policy
