Hello everybody!
Haven’t been here in a hot minute. Glad to be back. I watched Halloween the other night and I’ve always wondered what that ringing/bell sound was that could be heard through the film. You can hear the sound when the sherrif and Loomis go into the Myers house and find the dead animal on the floor. And you can also hear it right before Laurie opens the bedroom door to find her friend dead lying on the bed with Judith Myer’s gravestone.
Oh that, i always wondered that too. I don’t know why, but it always made me think of someone chiseling a grave stone ha ha, anyway, I think that’s actually the highest piano key being pounded by John Carpenter for that particular song. If you notice, when it happens, it’s after the same song plays in both the scenes you mentioned. As a matter of fact, I believe there’s even a scene in Halloween 2 where it plays. I think it was in the scene where the main nurse is trying to call Laurie’s parents but the phone doesn’t work because Michael cut the phone lines.
Odd! Because it only plays for a few seconds each time. I think you are right.
