Rit Dyemore help

So I want to dye my charcoal reeds to look darker and slightly greener, but I need to use rit dyemore since the coveralls are mostly synthetic fibers, any idea on what to use to have appear more screen accurate?

You’ll need to keep the water at boiling temp (stovetop method) to get the most out of Dyemore. Brand new charcoal Reeds might not take to green much as the shade of charcoal is pretty dark. You may need to wash them, gently bleach them, use color remover to fade them a bit so that they’ll be more “accepting” of other shades. I was able to turn a pair of charcoal Reeds into a nice H281 color, but it took a lot of trial and error and was done off and on over a year; I only just finished them.

I would suggest using IDyePoly as well.

What color dye did you use specifically?

I experimented around quite a bit, and there wasn’t any one specific color used. I know I used Rit Color Remover on them at one point to really wash out the charcoal. I then had to build up the shades from there to get to a more Olive-Grey color. An olive dye was used, along with blues here and there, and black as well. Not all at once mind you. This took quite a bit of trial and error.

Here’s a quick shot in broad daylight (which is making them appear lighter than they are in reality). This was taken during the application of the blood:
