Rob zombies Halloween

Okay going by the remakes backstory Michael grew up in a horrible situation and killed the ones who seemed to be the problem. He kills the bully, his step dad, sister and her bf. He doesn’t kill the baby. What’s his reason for killing all the other people?? Did he just totally lose his mind and decide to kill whatever moves? He kills that one guard that was always nice to him.

He enjoys the killing, always did in the original saga, here he’s no less, he hates everyone and you can clearly see that when he freaks out in the penitentiary whe he’s still 10 YO, the only change here is that 'm pretty sure he still feels something for Laurie, he hated everyone but her and his mother, but turned against her as well the moment she refuses to have something to do with him. They made the film knowing that Laurie is his little sister from the beginning as opposed to the original, so they could fix and create a deeper relationship between the 2, RZ Myers is the most brutal reincarnation but also the most human at the same time IMO, he didn’t want to kill Laurie initially, just to reunite with her, even Dr Loomis still had some power over Michael, he was the only one who could calm him down a bit, and the only one Michael would listen to.

I believe Rob Zombie’s version of Michael was just an odd kid that had confidence/self esteem issues, hence him wanting to wear masks to hide his “ugliness”, as he says in the film. The bullies at school pick on him, and so does everyone at home, so I think growing up in that environment just made him one day just simply go crazy and kill them all. At that point, he was so over the edge, that he just kept killing. He was basically a mentally ill brute of a man that was very dangerous if provoked. I agree that this is all very human, rather than there being a super natural edge to his character like the original series…something that I’m not a fan of Rob Zombie taking away from the character, though I do understand him doing it to make it his own. Perhaps it’s a tad more realistic, but it’s not the Shape.

Also probably had split personality. When mask was worn he was someone else. Ted Bundy was a serial killer but could function in society. Michael can’t.

The mask definitely was like a gateway to unleashing the true evil within. His evil is engraved in him but I feel the mask is the key to this pure evil that surfaces.

Ted Bundy was a sociopath
