Rotting Nag 75k mask

Hey dudes

Found this guy who only lives an hour away from me here in Sydney Australia who loves Michael Myers also. Not only that but is an artist who paints masks and figurines. He’s Got this nag 75k H2 mask I really want for a display piece. It is rotting big time though , but if he sells it for $50 or less I think It may be worth it? Is there a way to slow down the rotting process?
Cheers
Jeremy

I would pass on it

Don’t waste your money.

Don’t attempt it. Mask must’ve been mishandled many times by some owners.

Wont be long till that goes the way of the dodo

Shame as its a nice mask

A mask shouldn’t start to rot for at least like 10 to 15 years. And that’s if it’s been poorly taken care of. What the heck was that guy doing to it?

My thoughts exactly Chad, wow…

Even for $50 I would pass. If it’s rotting that fast then sadly it won’t be long until it’s done for completely.

Yeah buddy avoid that one at all costs. Yikes :open_mouth:

He got it back in 2013. I went along and got it . Couldn’t help myself , has the rotting hero vibe to it !

Hope it was a good price man. Spray it with clear plasti-dip & hope for the best

What’s plasti dip? Do I spray it inside or outside the mask?

Could try Aerospace 303 protectant and seal it

I say dont buy it, but if you can get it for $20-$40 no more. you have 2 options if you get it for dirt cheap.
#1 most important once latex starts rotting it doesnt stop its a gradual downward slope. once it starts it gets worse.

If you get it for 25-30 bucks you could patch some of the areas with cut up baldcap pieces, more layers of liquid latex
and seperated cheesecloth to make patches/reinforce it from the inside of the mask.

Id say foam fill it yourself for cheap and just keep it on a bust/display piece so it wont be worn.
theres two different videos on how to foamfill a mask with stuff from a hardware store.
if you go on youtube and look up stiltbeaststudios.

Or do the first step patching it without the foamfilling , and enjoy wearing it for a year or two

Thank you for the advice gentlemen. I went ahead and plasti dipped the outside and used 303 protectant wipes on the inside . I’ll put another coat of plasti dip tomorrow . Only paid $30us for it. Plus he threw a whole heap of other Myers goodies, which I’ll post in another thread.
Jeremy

NAG latex is very stretchy but is prone to rot.

Good deal bud. I sprayed the outside of my 2K that was starting to show slight neck rot. That was months ago & so far so good.

That’s the exact one I used Jay

WHAT! Your 2K is starting to rot already? :open_mouth: Holy crap man! What’s the deal? Do you wipe it out after each time you wear it? Are you keeping it in a cool dry climate and away from sun light?

I remember seeing one of his posts about the 2K rotting situation, and he said because it was worn and sweated heavily in it for the many and amazing costume pics he took.
