Hi there!
I’m from Germany so please apologize my English.
Recently, I bought a RZH1 mask on maskworld. I was glad to see that it is one of those great TOT masks. I watched several rehaul videos on YT, then I bought (thick, not liquid) white and black acrylic paint, liquid latex (250 ml) and some brushes.
First, I treated the new mask with a mixture of tap water and citric acid powder.
Yesterday, I then gave the dry mask a first grey wash:
I mixed a (what I thought) “mouse-like” grey color from white and black because there was no ready-to-use grey acrylic color to buy. Then I added the same amount of latex and (I am afraid way too much) tap water and mixed it. The first grey wash was way too thin, the thin grey latex-paint mixture didn’t really stick to the mask. Then I added more and more of my mouse-grey to the grey wash and gave it a second wash. Now the paint is opaque, but the light grey standard hair doesn’t match with the greyed mask, which in total is still too dark. I have to lighten it up.
Now here is my question: On the mask’s forehead there is a tiny spot where the latex layer of my first light grey wash is slightly dissolved because of my second, more opaque grey wash. It is not really noticeable, but now I am afraid that it might be necessary to peel off both of my first two layers and start again with a better paint/latex/water ratio but I wonder what ratio is the best for the RZH1 mask?
The darker grey-colored mask has now dried.
Or should I give it now a 3rd wash, this time a mixture of pure white acrylic paint, some tap water and latex (ratio?) and after that, as a final wash, a light black wash in order to highlight the “cracks” in the masks?
How do I get the hair darker? Hairline spray? Foam coloration? Unfortunately, I do not own an Airbrush set.
Do I have to worry about the little spot on the forehead with the slightly dissolved latex?
Thank a lot in advance for your help.
Regards
