Scream (Ghostface) 30th Anniversary Mask

Sorry if this isn’t the usual Halloween post. But thought it was interesting that I haven’t seen anyone mention this on the platform yet.

For those who don’t know, the original Ghostface masks made by the company Fun World under the "Fantastic Faces” series. Original Gen 1 masks that were used in the original Scream 1996 film are highly sought after, often reaching up to $1,000 depending on certain conditions. I would assume there is still interest in this area on this platform as we are horror collectors.

Well, for the 30th Anniversary - Fun World is now releasing a very special edition Ghostface mask which is a replica of the Gen 1 copies. Here are the first and only images we have of this mask so far:

Features:

  • Deluxe Ghost Face mask

  • Classic Mask with 2-Piece Hood

  • Inner Shroud with attached mask.

  • Simply connect with hook & loop tab attachment points

  • Vanilla Scented

  • Glow-In-The-Dark

  • Header Card

The eye-cuts on this mask will apparently also be hand-cut, just like they were in the 90’s for the original Gen 1 masks.

This is pretty awesome stuff, and from what I can see, this mask looks amazing and very much like a Gen 1. Here’s an image of a Gen 1 for reference:

I think for Scream fans and any horror fans / collectors in general, this is a really cool thing to happen. I’ve always liked the Scream movies, but never been that obsessed enough to go out of my way to find or purchase a real Gen 1 unless I had that spare cash lying about and absolutely nothing else to spend it on. But this is very cool and I have already made a pre-order for one. Feels like this will probably be the closest thing I will get to a Gen 1 copy!

I actually cosplay Ghostface as well (Scream, Scream 2 and Scream VI) I actually bought my fearsome faces glow in the dark Gen 1 back in 1997 and still have it to this day. it’s a late Gen 1 as it’s got a nylon shroud. I also bought a Gen 2 that came with the costume I bought a month or so later. It was a bib mask but I reshrouded it for my Scream/Scream 2 cosplaying.

I bought 2 of those 30th Anniversary masks when they went up for preorder several months back and I’m looking forward to seeing how they compare to my old FWD 1997 masks.
