screenused ''hoodie''

ok dude im startin to get pissed off…i cannot figure this out for the life of me…an tyler veers away anytime i ask him this question…

first off i thought it was a kenneth cole JACKET let alone ‘‘hoodie’’…that is dickies…

and finally what the HELL is with the hood is it attached or NOT i have seen many pics where its attached to the vest and one pic where hes not even wearing the vest just the coat!!! and the hoods still on!!! what the fuck!

nice

hello rampage-
you never wrote me back after you r bender by the way-

but here is some light shed fer ya-

the link i posted below is for the closest dickies jacket you will be able to find for the match of the screen accurate.
the original one, …(which the style eludes me now, but has been posted somewhere before on this site if you search)
is NO longer available. they do not make it anymore.

(perhaps if you do figure out the particular style and try and wait one out on eBay or something… but i doubt that will happen anytime soon- you never know though?..)

ANYWAY- this link i sent you is as close as you will get to the original kind Tyler wore in the movie.

the first pic is how they did it. its weathered and you can see how it was cut. they guted the inside to make it a nice and thin layer.
then in the next pic- with the Camo jkt, with the blue hoodie?.. YOU replace the hoodie with the cut up dickie- sewing it on the inside of the camo jacket, mending the two together. therefore giving you the hood part of the camo jacket but using the camo jackets zipper??.. i think? or the dickies zipper??.. i have it all written down somewhere.
just nonsence technical aspects of course.

but this oughta point you in the right direction if you intend on going for the screen acurate look-
but the blue hoodie works just fine also…

reference pics, and web link to dickies jacket below-
J

See, man. I told you the hood wasn’t attached to the vest. It probably only looks that way because of how the coats were mended together.

wayno, i have tried to explain this to you many times ill try to be more clear…

in some pictures it seems that yes the hood ISNT attached to the vest an its just a black hood thats attached to the uunder hoodie…look at this clearly hes got hood attached to vest here wayne you tellin me that iddy biddy black collar is michaels GIANT hood?

an the second pic is michael wearing just the jacket no vest or anything

i did pm you back!!! pm me again! 1971

and in this revolver pic- the black lining around his neck is just the kenneth cole collar. NOT A HOOD. the hood is attached to the camo vest but is lying down on the back of his neck, you just dont see it in this picture.

The hood doesn’t look attached to the vest to me. I see the “collar” of the vest under the hood. Also, you haven’t explained it to me “many times”. You told me once.

either way… if you have the revolver mag i cant find them online but there is pics in there where the hood is clearly attached to vest

so i still think that vest has a hoodie attached.you can see where they sewed it on

here is yet another pic that proves it look real closely on HIS left side

The hood IS attatched to the vest. Now, there might have been more than one vest/hoodie combo used in the movie, but the hero outfit had the hoodie ON THE VEST.

When I had Rob on my Radio show several months back, he had stills and photo’s from the set, in full color and you can see from many angles that the hood was DEFINITELY attatched to the camo vest. The hood itself is actually a deep “hunter green” color, not black as alot of people first thought.

Rampage is correct.

wow dude i thought this battle would never end thanks ALOT man finally some solid proof!!!

see guys!

No worries buddy. I even asked about the multiple colors on the hoodies and such i.e the “blue” one etc. Rob told me that the prop dept. couldn’t find exactly what they were looking for when they went looking for extras as they needed them. I even mentioned that I was asking so the “die hards” would have nothing to debate over. He laughed and said he knew there would be questions eventually.

The one(s) posted in this thread topic are not “hero” outfits, but were used in certain scenes. The official hero outfit included the hunters hoodie/vest combo. It was purchased at a gunshop/Bass Pro Shop type place he said. And if you look at the “sleeveless hoodie” in this thread, you can see that the “drawstrings” aren’t correct either. They’re lacking the plastic adjusters and knot-stoppers at the end etc. Even the “hero” hood itself, has brown and multiple green shades in it, same as the vest portion itself.

The LAST pic that you posted, Rampage, is the ACTUAL full hero outfit that was used in more than half of the film. You appear to have contracted a severe case, of the “correct” Seek help immediately.

lol thanks i guess!! i knew it was attached…do you know what kind of hood it was??

Dickies TJ319 Rustic Twill Hooded Jacket. Get the green version. I had an amazon link at one point but I’m constantly reformatting this pc to clear up the disc, thanks in part to my 3d cgi insanity model making seasons.

I was the first one to point out that the dickies hoodie was sewn onto the vest- They also removed the black quilted insulation fabric from inside the hood.

TWFS- Did Rob say if the store was local to Georgia. I know they went into the K & D shoe/Carhartt store right down the street from me. This store has tons of X01’s, and that seemed like a logical reason for them using x01’s, but the guy who worked there wasn’t sure that they bought anything.

It’s Alive,

Rob wasn’t sure they bought it in Georgia at all, he said he remembers it coming right off the truck when they arrived. He said that the blue hoodie and the other back up’s were purchased on location and that’s why they don’t correctly match up to the hero outfit.

The official hero outfit with the camo/hunters vest-hoodie combo, is the one that Rampage posted. Everything else was fashioned on set as possible back ups etc. Like with any film production, they paniked and needed to have a suitable back up(s), but nothing they could find in Georgia matched what the wardrobe dept. found for the hero outfit in LA. They were forced to make due with what they had.

I was even told there was a 4xl Reebok hoodie that they were gonna use if needed. Basically, they just needed something close if the shit hit the fan along the way.

makes mad sense thanks alot dude!!! the hobo look was really great to me

Anytime brother.

I wasn’t a huge fan of the look, but obvioulsy I DO understand it. He was cold and living in a shack for a year, I’d “layer up” too LOL!

so im not sure where the whole kenneth cole shit came from…but hm…i cant wait to put this together…what else do you know about the costume? seems pretty interesting whenever you post
