Was skimming on a Japanese auction site and found these vintage Sears Tradewear coveralls.
I remember member Ghostlyshape and some others mentioning that this may be the ones used. I actually got to see them in person and was blown away by the color.
The crew obviously randomly chose that color for the film due to it’s “neutral” look. At first glance it seemed like a charcoal grey but depending on the lighting it can look navy blue with a dash of green. Its a very cool and strange color. If I had to say what color it is, maybe “Navy blue-grey green”.
With the way it’s tinted it will definitely appear differently depending on the lighting used.
It captures both the old Anchor bay “Green” look and the 35th anniversary edition “Blue”.
They’re not the correct H1 button collar, but that of a H2 snap collar but you guys get the picture.
You really have to see them in person to understand what I(and others) are trying to say.
Happy hunting folks!
Yaaay !!
Glad for you !!!
Nice grab that’s awesome!!!
Excellent !
Tex has to be the color. It will change colors right before your eyes so no doubt every image of it will look different
Thanks guys, not my size so they’re not for me.lol
Was lucky to see them in person.
The moment I looked at the pair I found I was like"That’s the one!"
Yea! So when people say they’re blue while others say they’re green, they’re all kinda both right. It’s a strange cool color for sure.
Guess I can put my mind to rest.lol
Awesome man! My Roebucks are basically the same as these, except for the hammer loop. The color is definitely the same. They do tend to shift color in certain lighting conditions. Very cool stuff man!
Is the color not absolutely insane? The way it shifts in every lighting and matches every description ever given right before your own eyes is something else.
Even if these aren’t for you, so glad you got to seek them IRL.

Those are perfect! Nice find BBK and thanks for the early Halloween gift!
Thanks again gang.
Time to find my size.lol
What if Tradewears were used for H2, like they were H1?
It’s possible. The tag on the hero pair appears to be black so it was either Tradewears or the Black Label work n leisure’s that were made fire a few years.

I’m definitely leaning towards them also being Tradewears as well, I mean the pockets in terms of shape and size seem to be really damn close this shot of the hero coveralls also has that same colour like Kaizu’s pics
if I’m remembering correctly. DW went to buy the suit himself because the h1 didn’t fit. must of saw the black tag and green color. went to sears and bought the closest thing they had which would of been the black label work and leisures as they replaced the tradewear. wouldn’t be surprised if the first year of w&l (1980) used the left over tradewear tags. just my assumptions from info given and seeing the suits/tags in person.
also I believe there’s a photo of the h2 suit tag somewhere or the owner specifically stated what the tag said

i can see the black tag in this picture by Mark, but the writing is very hard to make out, it looks to also say Tradewear
I believe if it’s legible and he said it’s a work and leisure. I’ll go with that. I own a black label work and leisure. no doubt it’s the suit in my mind.
The coveralls from H2 are work and leisure, they have the snap collar instead of the donut hole jeans button

They made tradewears with a snap collar in later years, which is what is being speculated to be the H2 coveralls because of the black label. IMO they’re likely the black label Sears W&L although there isn’t quite a way to confirm it that’s just what I believe.
