Seen two crappy TOTS H1 masks today

So, I visited my local Spirit Halloween today. Had some cool stuff. But, I had to see their Myers/Halloween stock. They the TOTS H1 and H2 masks as well as some crappy ones and ones that weren’t full head masks. I really wanted to check out their new H1 masks, so I grabbed the only two they had to check out and they were absolutely terrible! The paint was “meh” and the hair was complete trash. The hairline seam on the top and back was coming apart from the mask. I expected more than that since I have an H6 and Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 Leather Face replica from them and they both are absolutely spot on and I couldn’t be happier with those two. But, the two H1’s I seen at Spirit Halloween today were a major disappointment. The quality didn’t seem nearly as good on them compared to the two that I mentioned that I have. Has anyone else on her seen or have had bad luck out of the H1’s from TOTS, just out of curiosity?

My local Spirit had one TOTS 78, and it had afro hair. I think the other customers ruffled it up

I have two copies, one from my pre-order with TOTS, and a Spirit copy. Both are good, but the Spirit one had a higher hairline and less gloss to it. Both look good. As for the hair on the Spirit one, I just picked one that still had the hair matted down and not puffed out. But that was back at the beginning of September before the masses got their hands all over them.

I did fix the hairline on both copies, as that is a common need-to fix for these.

The ones I have seen on here have been good. But, judging by the two I seen at Spirit Halloween today, I’m glad I went with the Sinister Studios Obsession mask. No contest on which one is better. The Obsession is better in every way. I was honestly expecting more and better out of the ones from TOTS for the price, since my H6 and Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 Leather Face replicas from them are spot on.

I have seen some copies at a couple Spirits around here that have not looked all that great. Like something just off about them. So that doesn’t surprise me.

I actually think the new TOTS Boogeyman mask is the best H1 replica that TOTS has out right now. It wasn’t even officially announced, and only went up for pre-order in July.

Here is a couple photos of my copy of the new Boogeyman. By far and away the most accurate H1 TOTS has on the table right now, aside from maybe their Kirk mask, which would need converted of course.

The TOTS Boogeyman is not in stores, it would need ordered from TOTS or a specialty shop like Collectors Row or Nightmare Toys.

That 2nd pic down…
:open_mouth: :drinkers:

Thanks man, I like that one too, I managed to capture a good shot there :drinkers:

That for sure looks better than the two I seen today. Both of the ones I seen today would have for sure needed rehauling - they looked that bad. The hair on both was coming apart at the seams om the front and back and they just looked “meh” to me. Looked like they were cheaply made and rushed. Shame because the two TOTS masks I have are amazing and those two have made me brag about the company for the price, but those two H1’s I seen today were just bad. I’ve read comments and watched videos reviews of people saying the company is hit and miss and people ending up with super crappy ones and thought they were just being too nit picky, but judging by the two I seen today, I can see why. Doesn’t mean I don’t support the company, though, because the two I have are wonderful and they do make great stuff, especially for the price. I’d still love to have an H4, H5, and H18 from them. But, the quality of those two H1’s could have been better.

Keep in mind that the H78 isn’t supposed to be an accurate representation of a 75’ Kirk. It was sculpted with certain scenes/photos in mind, such as the photo of Michael looking over the banister. In that respect I do think it captures that look.

For a mask that goes for that accurate 75’ Kirk look in the TOTS line, then the other mask “the Boogeyman”, is the one to go with. I think both masks accomplish what they are going for. It just depends on if you want the artsy specific scene look, or an accurate 75’ Kirk look. I personally like both.

All I’ve seen are bad. I personally dont like the mask. I don’t see H1 at all. It looks like a younger version of the h40.

That’s about how I felt when I seen those two at Spirit Halloween. Plus, the quality of those two were bad.

That one looks a million times bette than this piece of shit

Honestly man I’ve only had success in it looking good when worn and under certain lighting and shadow. Here’s a few photos I took the other day where it turned out really good. Otherwise, it’s hard to get a good shot of it unworn, at least for my two copies. I’ve seen a few look great, but for mine I have to pull out all the elements mentioned above to get good shots.

Unfortunately for me, I seem to not be human and this is mask is still to small for me. Once I put it one it’s a tight fit and the Myers features disappear and I just look stupid.

Well at least you have that Boogeyman for display. That one is very photo friendly.
