I am currently working on turning my Shadow Reaper blank by Joel Powers into a vintage kirk (at least that’s the goal). I got the eye cuts done along with the flesh tone and some of the pinkish tones. Going to add more blush tones around the eyes and cheeks before hair. All paints were a blend I make from scratch so I’m really happy how this is going so far. The photos don’t do it justice but will take better ones. Thanks for lookin!
Looks cool so far. Would love to do one myself, maybe even a Tramer.
Thanks! I did a Tramer up h1 style about 10 years ago when they came out. Great sculpt. I was going to re-do it again, but might just grab a new one to do up since the latex is getting pretty stiff.
Cool, I’ve tackled a few of those along the way. I’m looking forward to creating a Tramer and Kirk from blanks when I get a chance.
It’s coming together very nicely! Has a great spook-factor to it too!
Heck yeah, thanks! I’m pretty stoked on it. I think with some subtle weathering and textures it will really pop. I’ve got some great hair fiber ready for it as well.
That’s really cool, man! Where did you get your synthetic hair from? I’ve used a bunch of different stuff throughout the years, got all sorts of results, some better than others. If you ever decide to go for a Michael Myers mask look, just lightly spray it white over what you’ve got, add those eye cuts, and it’ll look amazing. Either way, it’s going to turn out fantastic! Keep up the great work!
Thank you! I appreciate it. I got the hair from Etsy! It’s a blond mohair. I finished some detail work and I think this thing is ready to seal up and hair!
The design looks like a mix of Captain Kirk possessed by an evil entity and a combination of Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Undertaker as one wrestler, especially with the white under the mask around the eyes and all the tones and shading you used. I dig it!
haha yes! It is quite eerie looking. The evil Kirk!
Star Trek “The enemy within” … ahead of its time.
The turnout is absolutely impressive. I like to see other people’s work, always keeps me inspired. The hairstyle exudes a retro greaser vibe, giving off a strong Rockerbilly aesthetic that is hauntingly awesome. I personally think you should keep this one as your prototype, start making these and selling them, advertising them here and whatever platform you choose; do them exactly like this one, and make a 1978 Michael Myers version only in this case, where you give it the old school conversion from the ground up sculpt, from your Kirk version first. Once you start selling these like hotcakes, remember who gave you the idea and then throw a few copies of each my way!
Hell yeah, thank you!! I appreciate that a ton. I’d love to do these up more, especially h1 style. I have a different castle style blank that I’m going to do up h1 and maybe put it up for sale. I only have a couple hrs a week to work on them, but I have a blast doing it. I’ll make anither thread when I start on this h1 next week or so! Thanks again
