Should I go with Red Kap or Big Mac?

I’m trying to decide between Red Kap or Big Mac for my H1 impression. The Big Mac appears to be herringbone. I’m not sure if that’s screen accurate or not? The vintage Big Mac’s I found are $20 more than the Red Kap. Which is better and any modding suggestions are appreciated?

Sent you a PM.

Just my opinion but you’re about to set yourself on a LONG and expensive journey with coveralls that tons of ppl end up going on. I recommend you skip these, save up and buy the tradewear recreations from Creepy Customs. Around $250 but you’ll buy these for $20, then you won’t be happy with them after a while and want something a little better for $50-100. Then again later on for a higher price then after you’ve been in the game for a bit you’ll end up getting the recreations anyway for $250. Save yourself the roadmap of spending and just get the best there is and then you’ll be done buying 78 coveralls.

Like I already stated Big Mac make really similar pairs like I’m wearing in the photo below. I’d hold off on that particular pair of Big Macs you posted and wait it out for a non striped pair with accurate features.

I honestly appreciate your opinion and feedback. Most of you have been in this community far longer than I, so it’s good to get different perspectives. That wouldn’t be my experience as I know I wouldn’t keep on buying coveralls. No disrespect to Creepy Customs, I’ve seen his work and it’s good. It’s my understanding his coveralls are just $35 Red Kaps with a pocket flap, button and weathering. I have modeling experience, so weathering is easy and fun to do myself on some vintage Big Macs. Conversely I can modify the Red Kaps.

Although I agree that hunting for a vintage suit and modifying it to be accurate is waaaay more fun than paying someone to do it all for you, I have to correct you on the Creepy Customs suit. Although Creepy Customs offers a variety of suits, including the real deal 1970s Sears Tradewear in Tex-green (which is where I acquired mine), CC also offers a suit that is a unique offering created by the company.

The owner went to great lengths to have a nearly 100% accurate suit made NEW by a factory. He used personal screen-accurate suits to reference when sending the factory the dimensions and color swaths. Everything about his suit was meticulously crafted through a lengthy correspondence with the factory. His replica is as close as you are going to get to owning a pair of Sears Tradewear coveralls in the correct color. The price tag is a little high for good reason. It doesn’t get any closer right out of the box.

Thanks for the correction! I had him confused with another company that reached out to me.

This should be all you need to convince you to buy from Connor, NOBODY makes the replicas the way he does, and had gone to the lengths he did to get them as accurate as possible

Hi there! just chiming in, we do NOT use any redkaps or big macs like stated.

Every inch is 1000% hand made, the color is store fresh tex green, same vintage fabric blend, measurements/dimmesions taken directly off multiple accurate tradewears.
