Alright guys, I’m fixing to try another conversion and I need some opinions on the the Kirk that Sinister Studios offers. Is the hairline good or no? I know TOTS sculpt can look spot on with the right hands, but I haven’t found any videos of SS Kirk before a conversion and for some reason, the necks on SS always look really bulky to me. Which Kirk do you guys prefer between the 2 of them?

I’m working on a TOTS Kirk right now. I really like the fit of it. Unfortunately it came with these curved dotted lines where the sideburns were glued. I had to fill those indents with latex and smooth it with a felt tip dremel a few times to get rid of them. My first mask was a TOTS '78 so I’m pretty ecstatic with how tight this mask fits.
My last TOTS had those lines as well. It seems they’ve altered the masks with little things like that through production. I’ve also noticed the newer copies have a ‘chip’ on the left side of the chin as well and the earlier ones that I’ve seen in pictures didn’t. But it definitely is a sharp mask to work off of, and the price tag is even better. They’re very fun.

Thanks, those took me forever to do. I rest the mask on a paper towel roll when I’m working on it and every time I thought I had the cuts right I would put the mask on and look in the mirror or take a selfie. I was constantly going back and forth and making little adjustments.
