Sizing and fit tips for a Halloween Ends build?

Hey everyone, quick question for those who regularly do full-day Myers cosplays at conventions or outdoor events.

I’m in the middle of putting together a Halloween Ends build as a project. My main concern right now is balancing screen accuracy with comfort—specifically finding something with the right fabric weight so I’m not completely roasting alive after wearing it for hours indoors.

I came across this costume option online while looking at complete base sets.

The overall cut looks solid for an Ends suit, but before pulling the trigger, I wanted to get some insight from people who have worn similar setups at cons:

  1. Sizing & Layering: Do these synthetic/cotton blend pre-made sets usually run true to size over a standard charcoal undershirt, or is it better to order a size up to allow decent shoulder mobility and breathing room?

  2. Length & Boots: Should I size up on the torso/inseam length to ensure the leg cuffs sit naturally over heavy work boots without pulling tight when walking?

  3. Distressing & Modifying: How well do these lighter fabrics take to custom weathering techniques (like latex texture, acrylic washes, or cuff fraying) compared to standard heavy-duty Workrite or Dickies coveralls?

Any feedback on heat management, fit tweaks, or general advice for breaking in a suit like this would be massively appreciated. Thanks!

Sup Arthur, definitely size up. If you go true-to-size, the back and shoulders are gonna bind up like crazy when you move around, especially over an undershirt. Sizing up gives you that extra chest room and keeps the leg cuffs sitting right over heavy boots without pulling up when you walk.

As for the heat, heavy-duty Workrites will have you sweating through your soul in a couple of hours indoors. Lighter blends are way easier to survive full con days in, and they take acrylic washes or fraying super easily for weathering anyway. A solid option to look at is this Michael Myers costume, as it has a good base look without feeling like a total sauna.
