So...has anyone considered converting a TOTS H2 to a 2018?

Like many fans, I couldn’t wait to get my TOTS 2018 and was excited to wear it on Halloween night. The mask was way too small for my head, so I’ve sold it to someone who will hopefully get lots of joy out of it.

I bought a second H2 years ago. I added a coat of white and never weathered it. It sits on my desk and today I wondered if it would be possible to add the creases, cracks, and pock marks to it. The new mask already has a strong H2 vibe in some shots as it is.

I am not at all experienced in converting or overhauling masks, so I’d like to get some ideas from those of you who are. How would you approach this? I’m guessing a lot of painted details would be needed except for where there are cracks or pieces missing, which could be cut out. Not sure about the creases and folds.

I think it’s a cool idea, to actually age what the original mask looked like (mostly). You’d have to either be good with paint, and painting shadows/thin lines, or you’d have to use some latex, like the one I linked to. If you have the patience and some talent, it would be a cool project IMO. Maybe you could just start by painting thin lines/shadows; you could always try more aggressive tactics later. It’s too bad the new mask doesn’t fit, mine is just barely at the cutoff. I usually like to wear a beanie under a mask, so I can black out the eyes, but that won’t work with this one…

It could work, I think the TOTS H2 would make a good base for the 2018 mask.

Hadn’t thought of using latex but that’s a great idea! Not sure if I have the skill to do it but I may give it a try if I have the time before Halloween.

The only thing (to my novice’s eyes) is that the eye holes would need to be enlarged.

I’ve been doing the ones I rehaul as if it started as an H2 mask. Just makes a cooler product in my mind because I like the flesh toned neck and all the grunge with it
