Has anyone ever gotten one of these and done a conversion on it ?
I’d also like your guys honest thoughts on it as a sculpt
I’ve seen the ones converted by Jimmy but i haven’t seen someone else convert his kirk to a myers.

Jimmy has done conversions of course, but he’s the only one I’ve seen do them.
As a sculpt I’d say that there are certainly better ones and if you’re going to go for a Kirk or Myers to get one that is less removed lineage wise from the original Kirk sculpt. That’s not to knock Jimmy in any way, partially because it’s my opinion he got wronged here, but I think that given Nikos’ talent he most definitely did not put his all into this project and given his character that’s not one bit surprising.
Why would someone help the artist who basically owns the H1/Kirk market help another artist make a mask that rivals it? Short answer is he probably wouldn’t.

could you elaborate a little more on what you mean by him getting wronged? im not very caught up on the history of jimmy falcos work in comparison to nikos from NAG. from my perspective just finding this mask and checking it out for the first time at face value, the forehead, eyes and nose looks pretty damn spot on to the original don post kirks. to my eyes the accuracy dips down a little bit on the cheeks, mouth, and jaw line area, which made me assume this was a ground up sculpt. but granted a pretty damn good one at that… i think the price may be fetching a little too high, i imagine people would be buying more of these if it wasnt nearly a hundred bucks more than what the creep goes for
I don’t mean to sound like it’s a fact, it’s my opinion. Jimmy acquired his 80s Kirk retool/prototype thing and enlisted Nikos to enlarge it and tool in the eyes etc and it’s my opinion that Nikos did not do it to the best of his ability and that it was likely intentional. He’s been tooling his 98 Proto and other various Myers masks long enough to know what does and doesn’t look good. I’ll edit this shortly with photos. Jimmy put his faith in Nik to retool his mask to the best of his abilities to create his 10/31 mask and I just flat out think that Nikos didn’t do as good a job as he could have.
Despite his awful personality, Nik is one HELL of a sculptor. Just look at these pieces he’s done:
I just don’t think a man capable of that, combined with his years and years of working with Kirk and Myers forms, is also capable of this being his max effort on the 10/31.

yeah probably a pretty well justified speculation. im surprised he didn’t just take it upon himself to do a little retooling. so this mask actually a retooled don post kirk from the 80s??
I think he should’ve done his own retooling too instead of having NAG do it, but oh well! What’s done is done and its Jimmy’s project so he of course can do whatever he thinks is best

I wouldn’t call it a “kirk from the 80s” necessarily. It’s not from an original Kirk mold, but it is definitely derivative of one. There are just masks with more direct lineage that will technically be more accurate is what I’m trying to say I guess haha

Here is the original. All that is really known is that it’s from the 80s and it originated from a Kirk. It’s not an original as we can tell since features like the ears were changed to be more human like, and the overall shape is more bulbous than the og Kirk sculpt that we all know was used for the production kirks
that’s the reason I say there are ones closer because they are originating from the actual final sculpt that produced the kirks we know and love- HMK variants, NAG variants, etc. then the Psycho/Creep etc.

A few years ago when I was sculpting a Kirk I asked Nik if he could line it up and check the proportion etc. He sent me back an edit that was so obviously off, deliberately. lol So I wouldn’t doubt that he’s petty enough for such tactics.
sounds to me like some mysterious history. this must have been a production mask from don post though correct? i know they came out with a myers mask somewhere around the 80s and 90s called ‘the mask’ which as quite large eyecuts like the photo you posted. could this also be what they used for production in halloween 4?

It is definitely some sort of Kirk prototype from Don Post and from the 80s. It’s just not an “OG Kirk” by what we’d consider one if that makes sense. Is is not the unlicensed DP 84’ the mask, as it doesn’t have the same features as far as the ears go.
Highly doubt that it has lineage to H4 given the ears don’t match. All we know publicly about the H4 is that it was made from retooling a Kirk.

This is almost certainly a prototype of DP “The Mask” made around 83/84. It’s awesome in it’s own right and pics floated around here for years before it was sold and caught up in some near theivery lol.

So you made a post laying out the history of this mask you’re selling and left out the part where Nicholas from nag retooled the mold for you ? If you’re trying to market it as an unaltered prototype Kirk from don post (apparently from the original 75 mold now) you at least have to make that noted. Sculpt wise it does not look identical to the og Kirk.
I stated it was used for several Captain Kirk & Michael myers projects throughout the years. The finished picture of the kirk replica on my personal post was done by me privately with a new enlargement & me sculpting back in new accurate eyes, not Nik with 10/31 which is over & done with.
