If it is a fake which I think it is, it is a shame but it is beautiful non the less.
AGREED! I think it looks outstanding myself.
So has the owner been made aware that this mask is indeed a fake? Or does he just live in denial and continue to think it once belonged to John Carpenter no matter what the evidence shows.
Yes Billy is correct. Stan bought the mask off of Steve Patino who had a reputation back in the day for selling fake screen used props. Just so you know Patino passed away in the mid 90’s from a heart attack. Can you say karma? The COA isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on. I’ve seen countless photos and video (all which I still have) of the mask before he had it fixed, repainted and rehaired. The 3 pics Billy posted links to are the way the mask used to look and I think we can ALL agree that there is no way in Hell that was screen used or even made for the film. I will say that the mask looks beautiful now and should still be worth a great deal of money but I think it’s high time he gave up on his screen used claims and come to terms that he got scammed. However in the long run he most likely got a great deal on something very valuable because when he bought it off of Patino I bet he didn’t pay over $1000 way back then. -Sean
Thank you Mr.Sean Clarke ![]()
I agree, screen used or not that is a mask to be proud of ![]()
A big thanks also to the owner for sharing his copy on youtube.
Thanks to Billy and Sean for clearing this up. The more you know! ![]()
Thanks for clearing that indeed Sean…It is a great looking mask but now knowing its true orgins I would never pay a great deal of money for it…I mean I think its worth quite a bit but no where near what its worth if it were true…1k-1500 tops is what id pay for it…Non the less its a sweet mask and I wish I could own own it
…Later guys
on there i saw that the mask was for sale, and that mask is sweet but did anyone else notice that its looks exactly like a sequel or was it just me.
Awesome, I’ve never seen that vid… Thanks for sharing - reminds me of my AHG Nightmare in progress in that lighting (that’s a great thing!)

Yes it actually does. Very cool brotherman ![]()
This guy has an incredible collection.I love his H20 mask and screen used stuff.I would think the value of that H2 mask to be very high, even if it wasnt used as a stunt mask. Some of our new masks sell for 2,000.I think the story behind this one makes it a rare find.
That pic is completely awesome! ![]()
The mask is in FACT a 1975 captain kirk mask that has been converted by DPS and later reworked by another artist. Billy is right about it not being a production run or a screen used piece, but it’s still a 75 Kirk 2 of the 3 images Billy posted is of my old 75 kirk. Sean knows his stuff too, but regardless Billy himself owned a mask of this style and claimed it was screen used back in the day (he changed his mind about it’s origins later and only spoke out about it after it was sold) and sean claimed too have a 75 Kirk Years and years ago which he said he made his masks off of. Truth is. Sean never owned a 75 kirk (Truth), but only a recast (which he knew) but never came out of the closet with the info (It was a blank he made his first masks off of). Hate me hate me, but truth is truth. This 75 mask is in great shape and I had a chance too pick it up before I knew what it was/converted and now it’s going too cost me several G’s too get it where it belongs…The neck damage isnt on his mask. Thats my old shatner with the neck rot that Billy Posted. No hard feelings tawards anyone. Thats just me adding my 2 cents. It’s not screen used, but these masks and the stories behind them lead us all too believe they were movie production pieces.
