I was curious about the “screen used” costume at SugarMynt Gallery (the museum behind the real Myers house). originally they had a Halloween 2018 display with what seemed to be the stunt Myers mask and some stunt coveralls, but ever since Halloween kills the costume was changed to a personal copy of kills mask by Christopher Nelson and possibly the same coveralls with some burnt detail. does anyone know if there is any part of the costume that is actually screen used? I know the mask wasn’t (or at least I’ve heard) and I’m pretty sure the coveralls aren’t due to the fact they lack a bullet hole and accurate burn damage. also what happened to the original mask, did it go back to Chris?
hey, yes It’s the same pair of coveralls from the 2018 display but “burnt” by chris Nelson NOT the wardrobe girls from the film.
same materials I believe just not applied the same
As Creepy Customs stated, the SugarMynt gallery statue is the same one as the 2018 one that was there previously, the coveralls were burned by Nelson and he did the bandaged hand effect.
The mask itself is a tricky situation, as there are many different theories on which mask this is. We know that there were 3 Kills masks, the Hero (Owned by JJC), the Stunt (Owned by Nick Castle) and the Backup (No one knows where this mask is. The bloody mask is the Hero. This new mask, which people dubbed “Monsterpalooza Mask” is most likely a personal version Nelson did. The mask itself is from the movie mold (not the TOTS). This is most likely a Nelson Styled paintjob with the added char. Many people who have seen this mask in person have claimed Nelson stated that this mask was screen used in Kills and in Ends, although possible, it seems unlikely this mask was ever used on screen, even with the added velcro.
There’s a chance this was intended to be used on set for Ends, for a flashback scene, but who knows. Only person to know exactly what mask this was is Nelson. Highly doubt it, but it could be the backup that Nelson charred up more after filming wrapped.
thank you guys very much, kinda a shame the screen-used 2018 mask is no longer there, another question i have is were the coveralls just some workrites that got, or were they made from production and possibly screen-used cause that would suck if they added burns to a screen used pair.
I dont think this was screen used. Lots of different details on this mask than the one in the movie, this one looks alot more charred up and more exaggeration of the burning side on this one and also the front of the hair. Just looks different to me but i could be wrong we all know how myers masks can look alot different from certain angles and hair styles
The Sugarmynt mask is what I call a “Nelson Stunt”. It is screenused mask used as testing ground before the hero was made. It had experimental burns on it until he did the hero and followed up the screenused type of burns. After filming he added more char. I finally in love that you asked because I was wanting to talk about this mask more.
The mask here is also the same one he brings to conventions…it’s a free mask ToTs gave him and he just regained the mask to make it look screen accurate. I was watching his and Sean’s podcast where they both got a ToTs mask and you can tell by the ear holes and how they’re cut out and also the neck trimming is different the films mostly due to the factory trimming too much off!

He just put the Ends mask up!
Anymore pics??
I asked chris about this at h45 he stated that this was in fact a screen used mask. apparently they made it extra charred for when he’s still in the fire, before the hoses lightly clean him off. do I think they ended up using it for the famous “gun closet” shot, I don’t know. but at least it’s screen used
This mask was in the movie, it’s used in the car scene when he gets out and stares at the nurse that shot herself, you can see the details match up, I don’t think the charr was on the mask at that point, I didn’t notice it anyway. I think Chris added that afterwards to bring the mask up to his own taste. The gun cabinet scene was the Hero that JJC owns, the mask used in the fire could be this I’m not sure, if not I would love to see that mask as it was covered in a fire resistant gel, would be interesting to see it now.
That does make more sense, and I actually have to correct myself due to the fact that I’ve gotten new information regarding that mask.
The mask that was used in the fire was the Hero, that I have no doubt in my mind due to the extra burns the Hero got throughout filming (It changed from the scenes we see it in Sondra and Phil’s house, in the park, to how it looks in the fire, and in the Myers house).
The Sugarmynt Crispy WAS used in Kills, a few people have pointed out the hairline matches perfectly to the shot of Myers (most likely JJC or Doug Tait) getting out of the car and approching Vanessa’s body and doing the head tilt. The crisp was most likely added after that, as well as the Blood.
