I’m already apologetic for what I’m about to say but I’ve made a visit with Mr. Cuervo and Bud Light tonight. After reading light of the very likely re-release of the Halloween III Trio revealed from Post JR. , I still can’t help but wonder if it will ever be possible that we ever will see a re-release of the Captain Kirk. Even if the hair and paint are sub-par, many are aware of the magic that has been done anyhow. Why exactly is it that one of the best and most profitable opportunities don’t come forth? It’s a crime and if the 75 master is truly gone then I, like others will have to deal with it. Just had to share my thoughts out of drunkeness and boredom.
I always wondered this myself ? Im sure the molds would be LONG gone and im guessing there were only a handfull made since there were only 150 to 200 75 Kirks made (I read that in someone elses post today, I dont know anything ) my question is where are the masters ? There must have been a few made to make the one piece molds ?
Sadly the original molds and masters are gone; long gone as a matter of fact. Several people asked Don about the whereabouts of the original 75 mold this past weekend at Mask Fest; Dick Warlock being one of them. It’s just sad about what happened, it was stolen. As Don told me once, he would have kept the mold under his bed if he’d had known what it would have gone on to become.
Billy, When was this? DP Jr told me at the last Weekend of horror’s out here in LA that it was in Sun Valley, CA…I doubt he misunderstood what i had asked but i guess it’s possible.
Hummm, about 5 hours ago and all this past weekend I heard the same story. Does DPS have it…nope. Was it stolen…yes. I heard about 4 different stories from people and I’m sure Don knows the correct one but I’m sure it upsets him to know about what happened to it. It was stolen in the early 80’s and ZERO copies have shown up so I’d say it’s no longer around.
I see, makes ya wonder why somebody would steal it for if not to make copies as there’s not much else one can do with it as a beneficial 2nd reason.

I always wonder this too,we need to hunt down the friggin jerk that stole it.It seems odd that someone would just steal it to steal it and not do anything with it,makes me mad
Well, the fucker who stole it should be in jail; from what I heard the thief scaled a fence to break into the studio and steal it. Like I said, I was right there all this past weekend and Don’s story never changed a word. If Don does know who stole it that is between Don and the thief and sadly it hurt us all!
