The Definitive Guide to All Friday The 13th 2-12 Hocks, Costumes, and Weapons **PIC HEAVY**

This^^.

Film lighting just makes them look blue, thats why I prefer it in costumes.

Speaking of part 5…with all the discussion of the mud mask and day dream mask lately I was wondering about the Jason costume in those scenes. Looks like it is supposed to be the same green work shirt from 4 with the pocket flaps and same style silver pants. Should I just assume dickies work shirt and pants are the best readily available alternative?

More than likely, yeah. I’ll go through my reference photos and try to find the closest thing you can get when I get back to my computer in about an hour.

Looking at some stills from the movie I will just go with dickies. Would you suggest Olive or Hunter for the color?

I’d go with Olive, personally.

Based on these BTS pictures In part 3 Jason appears to be wearing a black basket weave style belt with a silver buckle.

Love this thread! I’ve been wanting to make the remake Costume for a while. Unfortunately the parka and stag jackets are impossible to find. Does anyone know of some decent alternatives to them?

Wow. Thank you so much for compiling and creating this awesome list. Really impressive work I’m sure it will be massively appreciated by many including myself. I’ve been trying to find info on the weapons in the films, particularly measurements. Thank you for all the incredible amount of work you put into this!

You should see the Halloween Definitive Guide Thread. It’s got so much more info. TheGhostlyShape has put alot of time and effort into these guides!

Nathan, I just noticed The Final Chapter shirt you have pictured is not the right model shirt nor tag! The original shirt had a rectangular trim going down the line of buttons. I used to have one. There’s one on eBay right now in size large (slightly different tag).

For posterity, here’s the tag on the original screen worn shirt.

Looks to be a different belt in each shot. Braided belt has a rounder buckle. Also, the first pic is colorized. Aside from all that, though, I can’t understand why it matters to have every detail match the movie. Just get a darker olive green work shirt, white tee underneath, grey pants and black boots. No one is going to say “OMG YOU DON’T LOOK LIKE JASON BECAUSE THE BRAND OF YOUR SHIRT IS DIFFERENT THAN THE ONE FROM THE MOVIE!”

Fixing this soon!

Accuracy matters to people. Simple as that haha. I think (for most) the reason they want the exact thing is NOT for other people, but for the collectors themselves.

I get wanting to look the part. I used to be into costuming pretty heavily. I just don’t understand why it matters if the pocket flaps are angled or straight or if the belt is braided or not. I did a remake Jason costume back in 2009 and instead of spending hundreds of dollars on the same brands used in the movie, I spent about $20 at Goodwill and made a pretty convincing costume. It was accurate enough for me to make me well over a hundred bucks when I was done haha.

'They don’t make ‘em like they used to!’

Modern clothing is constructed a bit differently. Using the exact clothing from the original costume is like painting a portrait; each accurate detail you paint is a step closer to the actual representation. When a costume is as minimal as a pair of coveralls, or a work shirt and pants, it helps to have the right brand.

Your average person would think a generic white hockey mask makes a fine enough Jason mask. To us, who stare at screen shots and memorize scratches, we need mark-for-mark perfection. We have more information on what the real Jason looked like.

Most fans do not crave this kind of accuracy. This thread is for the pickiest of fans. It’s all very silly, but this is what being a fan is all about!

If you don’t get it ya won’t get it I guess. You asked why people cared, not for me to change your mind!

Very well said, Jo!

Haha dude I’m not just some newbie who doesn’t get it. I used to paint hocks and was met with nothing but praise. Some of them were even posted here back in the day by the people who purchased them. I’m an artist. I get the detail aspect. What I don’t get is why people spend more money to ensure that the pocket flaps are angled instead of grabbing a Dickie’s shirt for cheaper. I’m not knocking it. Just saying THAT kind of detail is beyond me. Lol.

Now… to whichever mod is policing me and deleting my replies, please stop. I’ve not overstepped any rules. Just a fellow fan trying to have a discussion with some peeps!

Forgive me for assuming you may be a newbie, it’s just when someone asks a very typical “newbie” question it can be misleading. I’d love to see your hock work, man! More talent on the boards is never a bad thing!!

This is awesome. Always wanted to make a Jason Costume from the 2009 remake and now I know where to start!

Awesome! I’m glad, this is basically what that’s for ! I’m glad you got use out of it. I’m still on the hunt every day for the missing pieces of this giant puzzle

Of course. it’s actually kind of hard to decide what I want to do for it tbh. There’s so many different versions of the character. The lake behind my house just begs for a Jason photoshoot too.
