Awesome, can’t wait to see them! Hoping they’re somewhat common and not completely obscure, but it sounds like they might be a bit hard to get hold of.
He seems adamant that the coveralls are navy blue Dickies. I can’t imagine he would be confused about coveralls he owns and has right in front of him, I just can’t find any Dickies coveralls that look like his pair. There’s also some talk about there being snaps on the cuffs in the film which apparently aren’t present on Red Kaps, which is kind of problematic. (Note: I can’t find a snap on his cuff in the film, but there’s not a ton of thorough reference for the inside of his sleeve. I’ll keep looking.)
Decided to weather up my Workrites a little bit. My camera makes the weathering look very white and noticeable, but in person, its very subtle and it looks great!
The most convincing argument for charcoal I’ve seen so far is this (I think HeCameHome383 posted this argument originally, correct me if I’m wrong):
Until somebody posts a picture of navy coveralls showing this color, I have to believe they’re charcoal. I owned a pair of navy Workrites, and while they looked great and very accurate to most of the shots in the trailer, they simply can’t replicate this lighter shade, whereas the charcoal pair look like the shot above and the shots in the trailer, depending on lighting.
Aha, I found it! I was looking for this photo to show you but forget I put it in the og post. Courtesy of HeCameHome383, the same pair of charcoal workrites, just in different lighting.
I’ve yet to see a pair of Navy ones that can do both colors like this, so this is a bit solidifier that they’re charcoal (to me at least)
This is a pair of worn/used Navy Workrites in natural light. They haven’t been weathered, or sanded, etc., just worn. I am going to weather them soon and see what I come up with.
I have noticed something about my coveralls that made me a little sad. The screen-used pair has these bump looking things on the edges of the pocket and collar. Mine do not
