I’m here because this place is jumping with activity!
about the myers replica question…i think every maker has hit the look in their own way…problem is the next guy could disagree with you because he saw it a different way.
to make it a little more plain…you could hand Ron a script ask him to direct it, then turn to me and say Chris direct the exact same script Ron is doing and what you have is two completely different movies. Ron would see it one way and I’d see it another way…I used that analogy because we both make films!
it’s the same thing in collecting these masks, we each have a diff perception on the way the mask is SUPPOSED to look. I think someone could have the one that Nick Castle wore in the film, not tell anyone what it was…take pix wearing it and someone would say it needs improving and state reasons why…hope that makes sense?
My whole thing is…WE ALL win! We get a hundred diff versions or artist interpretation of what the mask looks like and the fans have choices, thats what i love about it! it’s healthy for everyone
im here because i have always wanted the erfect look…and in the perfect look…i dont choose to be him, i choose to replicate him…i choose to look like him from every angle
i want to be the perfect myers and i want the best mask…my good sirs…i want a #1 choice of mine…is that so much to ask for??
None of my masks are “definitive Myers replicas,” but I consider them “perfect” in their own ways. I’ve also seen fellow members whose masks I consider “perfect,” many of them in fact. I am here because Terry Lambert sent me this link & my quest was to find a very close replica…little did I know I’d end up with at least 7. Hope this answers the question.
i dont understand what you are actually asking or trying to say either. you said youve seen alot of great masks out there and then the very next sentence say i have yet to see one.
and what are these 3 reasons we are all supposed to be here?
i can tell you why ‘im’ here. im here in search of the “definitive” myers replica. im here for the love of that white mask, michael myers, and the Halloween movies.
as far as mask makers, i think afew have gotten really close to replicating a 75 kirk. no mask will ever look like it did in the 1978 classic but we have gotten damn close.
outside of that i dont know what your looking for as i couldnt make heads or tails out of your post.
but im ready for a wake n bake myself
Well no “Wake N Bakes” for me… Well, not for some years now… :finga:
As for my statement, “I have seen a lot of great mask.”
“I have yet to see one.” Pertaining to the topic title. “The Definitive Myers Replica.”
I figured I would have to wind up breaking that down to somebody here…
And as for not being able to make heads or tails of this post, you sure did a fine job at stating your opinion and answering to it…
I guess really the meaning of this post, is I think we have become divided as an underground community.
We have members here slitting each others throats to take a number spot at a “Definitive Myers Replica” In my opinion, I don’t think that’s what MM.net is about.
I think Morgan kinda hit it on the head when he stated the perception of different ppl… Some people will actually “Get” this post… And for some, it’ll go right over their head.
hey man i didnt mean to offend you. i percieve it like i read it. judging by some other replies im not the only one who had trouble deciphering the threads focus point. you said yourself this may be a jiberish post. remember when a person is just reading what another wrote it can hard to catch exactly what the author is implying. your original post wasnt exactly cut and dry, it left room for people to wonder. so yeah im sure it went over some heads. if i wouldve got my wake n bake on this morning i probably wouldve understood it just fine heres to you sidewinder
I agree, If someone wants to post something, just write what you mean, instead of trying to put it into a riddle, So now you have everyone first: Trying to figure the riddle out, Then Second: replying to what they believe is the answer to the subliminal question. I don’t mean any disrespect here bro, but if you have an opinion, just state it, I want believe were all not here to see whos smarter than the next guy.
I’m here because I’ve been a fan of Michael Myers since I saw Halloween 2 on TV back in 1986. Ever since then I’ve wanted movie accurate masks. I’m just about at the end of my Myers collecting days. I’m pretty satisfied with what all I have. All that I need to complete my collection is the perfect H6 mask and a RZ H1 mask. After I get those I should be done with this hobby. I also love to hear about all the stories about each mask from the movies (who made it, who has a copy it, what the director thought or didn’t like about it, who went to court over the image of the mask, etc.).
Funny you mention it. I think some have become divided based on the difference where the industry has went nowadays. It used to be everyone was sculpting Myers Mask and it seemed cool to have some artist interpreted pieces, then the kirk conversions came in and everyone has there own view for what they think Myers is. I like the conversions as much as the myers replicas, but I see my self digressing back to the old stuff a bit more now, just because it had a more fun meaning to me. Its fun to convert a Kirk and put a twist on it, but the hero was a ugly piece of converted crap that translated well on camera for the spooky creepy factor. Cundy’s lighting did that. I think that the division is based on a delusional depiction of what the hero looked like. This is where I think that the division comes from and why no one can get it just right. Too many differing views.
Im here to enjoy the movie and network with friends. The definitive mask can not be obtained. We just have to be happy with new and old alike…
THE DEFINITIVE MYERS REPLICA= What you want it to be, in your own eyes, your own “perception” of the hero…
There will never be an exact, Never, laser scan or not… Even if you own an original '75 kirk. All the pulls were different from Post, in turn, unless you own the original mask itself, in perfect condition, there will never be…
On that note, There are some wicked replica’s out there, that really bring out the look on screen, the creepy emotionless stalker. To hear and see everyone’s views are cool to hear.
Its amazing how our views can be so different but yet, so alike…
See Ya!

exactly my point! everyone will have their own opinion on what is perfect or not
