Easy fix brother. I know what you mean by “the more I look at it, the less I like it” and that always sucks. I was the same way about my TOTS Elrod, but there’s a few things you can do to help your own opinion of your mask

1. Get it repainted/whatever you want. A simple paintjob can make or break a mask. I’m not a huge fan of Niko’s finishing myself, so that could help. Maybe the artist of your choice can save the eyecuts to your liking.

2. Ask for your family/friends opinions. Your average person would be blown away by that mask. Just show them and ask “does this look like the original Michael Myers mask?” And they’ll give you a boatload of complements.

3. Wear it differently. Throw in some tissues to pad it, or simply open your mouth and give it a Castle stretch. It is a 75k CASTLE for a reason! Stretch that bad boy!

Nik is almost unmatched when it comes to his sculpts nowadays, his paint is nice too. That being said I’ve been trying to contact Mr. Carter so I can send him my Castle 75k SE. Imo, Mr. Carter’s finishing is definitely unmatched in the hobby. But like many others said, get it rehauled or sell it, you won’t have a problem finding a buyer for sure.

I think it looks good in the worn pics.

These masks are tricky. The same mask can look 20 different ways just depending on how it’s stuffed, worn, and how the light is hitting it.

I see what you’re saying about the eyecuts not being “perfect”, but I still think it’s a nice looking mask. (and I feel like I can count on one hand the masks I’ve seen that I actually thought had “perfect” eyecuts. It’s a very rare thing,…imo. )

The mask being worn looks a lot like the closet bashing scene, to me.

And you know, Ive considered that. Every mask is sculpted and finished probably based on looking at a certain stillshot in whatever movie the mask is being based. Im also a firm believer that looking at a Myers mask in a well lit area, and up close is also a bad idea because no matter what that will make it funky looking. With this one though, I ALMOST get the Halloween 4 cover vibe because of the shape and prominent cheeks.

I too would say it kinda has a h4 cover look to it, especially the pic behind the tree in my eyes. Probably due to the shadows but that too is what i see. You may be amazed by what the right person could do with that mask.

it’s indeed tricky to make a judgment here, I honestly don’t like the way it looks in the photo behind the tree, in spite of being a Castle Edition I see no Castle stretch and it actually has more of the Warlock stretch on the 2 sides, but I think it looks pretty good on the other photo with your baby, it definitely has some closet vibe on it, do you have other worn pictures in a darker lightning to show us? could you also tell me the size of your head and the mask please?

Its a 24” mask and my head is about 23.5” heres a close up of unworn and stuffed with bags, and worn with lighting directly overhead. With the overhead lighting, it looks much much better to me. I dont have any darker ones because Ive never taken one in a darker environment

I’m a newbie so forgive me for chiming in.

It looks massively better in that worn photo and the stuffed one. I was going to say exactly what Kevin said - in the display photo in your first post it looks more Warlock/Cover, wide rather than long.

Agree about the eye cuts when I zoomed in on the photo, they aren’t very neat. it looks like someone did the rough shapes and then forgot to smooth them out. I have no hands-on experience with high end masks though, are your Night Owl mask eyecuts neater ?

If its just that off to you then no i guess it wouldnt matter. Some people probably wouldn’t even notice the things you are and would be happy with it like the post a few before this one. Some of my masks look goofy as shit when worn by me but look fine when stuffed and displayed. Even though they dont feel snug the shape of my head messes with them.I will say the more i look at this mask worn the more it doesn’t look like a castle 75k or even a 75k but then the stuffed pic it does. The eye cuts arent the best but maybe a skilled hand could improve them. Im sure you could make a good trade like the creep someone mentioned or flat out just sell it and get a mask that fits the look more to you. Thats still a pretty desired mask.

True, I don’t see anything wrong with it but I have also never owned a NAG mask before. I would saw off my arm for one too be honest but I am poor as hell at the moment.

I might be wrong but it also strikes me that the OP’s copy have eyes cut out badly, if you look at Scott’s copy the eyes seem a little rounder and more focused, I’d really like to hear an opinion from someone who owns a Castle 75 or any other who knows this specific mask inside out, if it’s just a matter of eyes I think it can be easily fixed in the right hands, as for the stretch that’s sure down to your head despite the inbuilt Castle stretch that the mask is supposed to offer, the picture behind the tree shows an horizontal wide stretch instead of the vertical V shape Castle stretch, the other pictures though seem more accurate on the long side but still off a little, perhaps it’s just the eyes.

@Spacebass, he seems to already own a Creep and he also attached some pix with it, he was suggesting a Creep to me since I’m also after an H1 mask and the Castle 75K was my first choice.

In most of your pics I have seen. It is stretched like dick warlock is wearing it. Try taking some of the stuffing out from the sides on your display and try to vertically stretch it. Also try the same when wearing it.

I’m sorry you aren’t satisfied with your mask brother. I personally prefer the Creep / Shat for H1 but I do love the Castle as well. A lot of the shots that look like BTS photos have a lot to do with lighting and people take serious time out with professional cameras to capture certain looks.

The eye cuts on your copy may be part of the issue, but they aren’t too large or beyond repair in any sense. There are many artists besides JC who can do some simple dremel work to even them out for you. I’m actually a fan of the hair color on your copy and the weathering as well. Truthfully the sculpt is a beast but many people just order a blank to send to their favorite artist. For the price, you want a mask that pulls off the perfect look in your eyes.

If you truly don’t like this mask, I’d sell it. Considering the price of a finished Castle, paying the additional money for a rehaul is just too much to invest in it. Somebody will scoop the mask up right away and then you can choose a mask more to your liking

I agree that Nag masks are already expensive enough to be sent to another artist for a rehaul, they must look right out of the box

This is before and after being rehauled of my old 75k, which Martin peña did, as you can see, a sculpt can be great, but if it ain’t finished right, it wont be at it’s full potential

at this point, if you don’t plan to have it rehauled and just wanna have an accurate mask out of the box isn’t it better to order a Creep or a Spectre?
