George told us at the 30th that he cut the eyes on the mask because he couldn’t see. It’s the same mask before he cut them.

Paul is correct, and when You watch H4 you can see that the mask has smaller eyes in some scenes, and larger eyes in others. Sam’s H4 mask is about as close as you can get to accurate IMO
Sam nailed it. I left that out earlier. The best H4 by far methinks.
I think the H5 is very close but there is just something that is off to me, I can’t exactly put my finger on it.

Although I think the SSN Shanks is the best H5 offered (no offense to Andrew’s very good Payback mask), it’s not a dead ringer. With that said it is one of the BEST masks you can get straight from the maker in terms of no real need of a a repaint, rehair, etc.
The mask after the H5 that I feel has NOT been really closely replicated to perfection is the H6 mask.
THIS is what I see when I think of H6 and not ONE of the replicas (although Justin and Brad have came VERY close) has really nailed it imo, it’s that “smirk!”:
As far as the H4, I don’t think it has been nailed either. If you could take the best parts of Sam’s replica and mix it with the best parts of Nik’s…you’d have it. For now I have to pic the H88 as the best. The only thing it really needs (imo) is a little more curved hairline (like Sam’s) and more accurate eyecuts, then you have pay dirt!
***I’d like to give appreciation to the amazing artists who HAVE offered some very good replicas of the masks mentioned as well as masks that were not brought up in this topic!! They may no be exact replicas but they are CERTAINLY magnificient pieces in their own rights. Thanks to these guys we are now comparing replica masks to screen used masks by only the smallest of margins. Could you imagine what it would be like without these Indie Artists!!??

Lol, I hear you Ron! I feel that way sometimes!! Well…ALMOST that way.
I know of two (2) screen used/production made h5 masks that are made of foam latex. One I learned about years ago that was given away on set and another that a collector hear owns. I have also seen a rotting (screen used) h5 that seemed too be made of regualr mask Latex aswell, but it’s my opinion that the mask seen in most of h5 is made of foam latex.

I agree with you as well. There are alot of excellent masks out there that nail the movies very close. I think everyone is going to see the perfect vision of each differently. I think it all comes down to personal preference again.

Yes. I think too many people in hobbies, such as this one, put too much into what everyone elses opinion is instead of what their own is.
this is what i think h1 h78,h2 kh h2 or warlock,h4 hss h4,h5 ssn h5,h6 raining red,h20 ssn h20 or a gary m h20,h8 gary m ressurected,h9 hss h9,h2 phsycopath2 exposed and thats what i think.
