The Most & Least Successfully Replicated Myers Masks

Of the nine films in the Halloween franchise that features Myers, which mask has been replicated the best and which mask is still in the biggest need of a more accurate offering?

Since the same mask was used in Halloween and Halloween II but the look is different we will consider these as two different masks solely for the purpose of this thread.

Here’s my opinion:

I think the closest replicated so far is the look of Myers in Halloween II. In my opinion a good KH just about nails the look and some of the better Warlocks do a nice job as well.

The least successfully replicated in my opinion is the mask used in Halloween 5. I own a SSN Shanks and it is a great mask (and my personal favorite H5 replica to date) but still doesn’t totally nail my mental image of what I see on the screen for this movie.

I always thought the least replicated mask was the one from Resurrection. I agree with the H2 thing, though.

I agree that Halloween 5’s mask has been poorly replicated, even the SSN one’s, as close as they are, still, there is something missing.

I feel that the Halloween 6 mask seems to be the most accurate out there. There are a few out there that REALLY capture the look of the film.

I disagree. I think the SSN’s 5s are about as close as we’re going to get in a while. I actually put it on one of the most successfully replicated. Along with H20.

I think the least successfully replicated for me would be H4.

SSN H5 mask. I put this mask next to screen caps and it is about as accurate as any I have seen. H4 is the mask that has not been completely 100% nailed yet

I think the h4 mask still waits for a proper replication. H4 is the mask that has not been completely 100% nailed yet I have expressed this many times. I have NEVER seen any mask that looks like the original screen used that GPW is holding in this picture.

I like the SSN H5 but some of them have too much texture. The ones with less texture look really good IMO. The H4 has not been nailed. I’ve owned them all and had the advantage to compare them to my screen used mask. With that said the HSS version is by far the best.

Yeah I agree that some H5’s are overdone with texture…The H4 has definately been nailed IMO…The HSS Crofader is right on the head of the nail…Ive owned several H4’s like Red octobers, converted UL75’s Etc and was never satisfied with them…I stayed away from buying H4’s for a very long time untill I saw Matt’s (Drentheliar) crofader mask and I was blowned away by it…So I ordered one from Sam and almost fell out when I got it…The SSN H5 is by far the closest mask we have but I do think it has room for improvement…And the H8 mask IMO was nailed also if you count the 15 made for the movie by Cinema secrets…Some Deluxe versions are pretty sweet also…H2 definately nailed with the KH and right warlock…H1’s IMO are still the hardest to judge and get 100%…You can have just about the perfect mask but something will bother you about it…H6 done, H20 by SSN has been nailed also IMO…Now H9 IMO is just like the H1’s to me…You can have almost the perfect mask but something will seem a little off…




So if I had to say what mask I would like to see more of (Not that Im not happy with the ones out there by any means) I would say H1’s, H5, and RZ mask…Although the latest RZ mask that have been released and coming may very well be it…

Please no one take me the wrong way…Of all the mask mentioned in this entire thread I seriously love them all…If I didnt I wouldnt own them, have owned them or going to own them LoL…Later fella’s

That must be what the problem is when I see the SSN H5 mask. It does look like too much texture. The overall shape is good as well, but there is just something missing, IMO.

I have always been under the impression that the masks used in Halloween 5 are actually made of foam latex and not a standard mask latex. That could be the missing element in the perfect H5 mask

First of all, we should pay much respect for all the hard work a lot of the makers have usedd for our pleasures with the masks!
And I think that H1 and H2 have been nailed perfectly with the H78 Conversions, Warlocks, KH/DWs, etc…since H1 and H2 have been a favorite Halloween franchise!
I also think that the H5 has not been touched yet. I think there will be someone who WILL make that perfect H5. Ron, I love your H5, may I ask, why is there alot of textures around the mouth area? Despite my question, that is a beautiful mask man!
MichaelLantern, you are seriously right, H2 has been nailed many times with perfection. KH/DWs,ect since I Warlocks,Sequels,Conversions, etc have been perfect since i started collecting!!!
I think that H4 has not been perfectly nailed yet because I dont think most of the have the right eyecuts and size yet. But my opinion…
I think that the H6 has been really perfect the whole time! I love Ron’s past and present H6s, they were really accurate. And most of the H6 scores are accurate!
Hmm…H7 has been a really good replicating mask. I’ve seen a few, but those few H7s have been damn accurate!
H8,despite that it is the least favorite franchise in the series by Busta Rhymes martial arts, H8 has been getting good! I like the Cinema Secret Deluxe Masks…
H9, wow, there are many H9s made, don’t you think? I think that one has been tried many times, and successful each time. The Scarred, Revisioned, Kind of the Kiss Fan, etc. (Lets not forget Nik’s upcoming project)
And last…H2 the Remake…I mean Casey has really put work in to it! I think it is perfect!

I can only comment on what I own, but the DB2 Kirk has nailed the '75 Kirk look, and the converted versions I have seen look amazing. The Raining Red in my mind is the H6 bang on.

I have a Crofader on the way and from the pics I have seen, it looks amazing.

As well the Psycho SE is pretty bang on. Once I get my copy back from JC I am sure it will look even more screen accurate.

It all depends on what you see, which is why I love this hobby. Since not everyone will agree what the best mask out there is, there will always be masks being produced to collect.

I do like the crofader and its the best h4 but the chin is not long enough and the jaw is too squared off.I have never been fond of the mask used in H4 to start with.I think the SSn H5 is close but not bang one by any means.I would have to agree That the H1 and H2 has been replicated closest.With all the recast kirks they have to be close,

SSN DURAND
SSN Wilbur
SSN H5

I think if the texture was tooled out on the durand and Shanks sig masks they would be extremely accurate. I know the Shanks is a little small compared to my knbefx mask. The h8 by cinema secrets just nailed it with the better versions.

I’ve always thought the H4 hasn’t been nailed yet. There’s just something that’s always wrong with one eye cuts, chin, etc. Probably the best replicated for me has been the Cinema Secrets H8 the limited run, and the Kh for an H2

My LA FX buddy Dave worked on H5 and he said the mask in the film was made of regular latex as far as he could remember.

The part 4 mask always seemed a bit off to me. Also the texture on the part 5 is far to pronounced in my opinion.

Correct me if i’m wrong, but isn’t this the mask WITHOUT eyecuts yet? maybe the one in the Vincent drug store scene?

And as far as i’m concerned the H1 hasn’t been nailed perfectly yet, SOME h2’s look great, haven’t seen a perfect H4 yet, the SSN signature series mask is nice, I don’t care for the H6 mask, and the SSN H20, and the Seven are pretty spot on. Again, this is just my opinion.
