Forgive me if there is already a thread about this somewhere, but I couldn’t find much. I think that the hair styling can make or break the look of a mask. Some of you guys do a fantastic job with this and I was wondering what advice/techniques you could share with the group to help make all our masks look that much better. Thanks!
I’m a hair freak. Honestly, just set it the way you ultimatley like best, and LEAVE IT. When I fool with the masks hair, It takes me forever to get it the way I want. It’s a pain in the arse, but, once you get it the way you want, it makes the mask!
Thanks for the resposnse. So what products,if any, do you use to style the hair? Water, some sort of gel, hairspray, etc.? I certainly don’t want to use anything that will harm the mask in any way.
I wouldn’t use any products. Even if I did, I wouldn’t know what to use. Most hair can be manipulated with your hands and maybe a brush. Just set it and leave it if you can. I set mine, and sometimes end up re-setting it, and totally mess it up. It drives me nuts!
Appreciate the input. It drives me insane too! I’ve had a few different masks that have obviously had something used in the hair because its kind of matted. I thought there might be a general agreement amongst the makers and collectors as to what the best option was.
No problem man. It will make you enjoy the mask and hobby much better if you just set it and leave it. Not sure what kind of mask you have, but, the matted look is great for H2 but, not so much for H1.
I hope he doesn’t mind me doing this, but MM.Net member (Mod) GoBears04 has a very helpful vid on Youtube showing you an easier way to styling the hair on a Myers mask. He demonstrates on a Second Stab. Here’s a link…
Hope this helps. …ANDY
Thanks for the link. It would be amazing to have a video of an artist like JC documenting the entire process of making a mask from start to finish! I guess the guys at the top of their game wouldn’t want to give away their secrets though. That’s understandable but it would be interesting to watch.
