The original Halloween 1978 Coverall Color!

Would help to find an article of Sears clothing in that color! Even if they aren’t coveralls. I can’t seem to find anything on this color.

I think Nathan’s just trying to pin-point the exact product we’re after, based on what a catalog might call it. We generally know that the coveralls are are ‘green-grey’. Unless they were charcoal?

This^ haha. I’m just trying to see what colors were available for the hero coveralls the year they made them. That would then give us options as to what the hero pair REALLY are. For instance, if the colors they offer in the catalog for the hero design are “Black, Tex green, Neon Blue” We have our hero color, a subject of debate for many years.

Does it seriously matter that much? It sounds like you put a lot of effort into finding a color. My 18" McFarlane myers is wearing navy coveralls…im not mad at it. What exactly is finding the exact color going to do for you? I’m honestly curious.

Probably not, but honestly, it’s fun to try and track this stuff. There’ll always be people who care more about the facts and the definitive brands etc used, more about all aspects of the movie than just the “basics”.
I’m not mad that any action figure, HalloweeN enthusiast, cosplayer, random goer on the street, has the wrong coverall color, but I think it’d be cool to know exactly what was used.

Asking me why I care doesn’t quite make sense to me… I would ask you why you don’t care, but I’d imagine the answer would be somewhat to the effect of “because I don’t” or because it’s “too minute”. My answer to your question in its simplest form, like yours, is because I just do.

Have a good one man!

How is the collar size on those Reeds? Bigger than Red Kaps?

This board does two things: post the same tired TOTS 2018 masks and wait for the KH Ultimate.

Threads like this give the forum life. “Does it matter?” - probably not, but that’s part of the fun of this hobby.

The thing is, you never, ever will know. It will always be an assumption…You guys keep on chasing ghosts though, I’m happy with what is readily available to order and for me to customize to my liking.

I’m not saying finding the catalog listing will give us the color for sure, but it most definitely could. There is no denying that.

I think it’s a lovely color! Definitely looks close, but I think the real test is seeing it on fabric, ya know? Like it may shift differently due to thread variations. I’ll do some tests and get some fabrics ordered.

Speaking of, found a supplier who can do individual orders of coveralls based on an existing pair or pattern (which is an ongoing process as we speak)
