The original mask's eyecuts??

i was staring at my mint 75 last night and i got to wondering… how close were the eyecuts on the 3 masks used in Halloween? With the little amount of care people paid to their props back then, it doesnt seem like they would match the eyecuts exactly, but the mask seems to be consistent throughout the film. Do you guys know if each mask’s eyecuts were exact??

The one stunt masks eye cuts were way different then the Hero. The School scene with Tommy and the Shape he wears one of the stunt masks.

Also heres the other one i think, it seems to have painted brows may be the one DP did for them

Do you realize the can of worms you just opened posting a thread like this  Mike

The eye cuts were not exact on all 3 masks. TLW told me himself that he purchased 4 Kirk’s and the first one he tried to convert he messed up doing the eyecuts and had to throw it away. There was no exact science when he cut those eyes on any of the masks, he just happened to knock it out of the park on one of them. Say it with me, friends… THE HERO!

Yup, “the Hero”…that NO ONE took care of. Odd isn’t it? The mask we all know and love was thrown around, stuffed in pockets and abused.

Yeah, thats wild just thinking about that…

Yeah, it’s odd and sad. They had no idea it would be such an iconic mask. I wish we could see how it looks today.

I guess it was different times back then. To them it was just a mask bought for a movie…

So I guess the H2 mask was just 1 of the 3 used from H1? I have been told several times that the mask used in H2 was the same mask as H1, the Hero I guess?

correct.

and yeah…It sucks. Masks like the H1 hero mask and the screenused TCM masks were not cared for at all, it’s sad because they truly are historic.

the last thing i heard about the hero was that the guy who owns it got it completly refurbished it and gave it a completely new paint job to match the original, restiled the hair, and got it foam filled.

I’d give a King’s ransom to see just one pic of that mask today.
