Y’all know it’s hard to resist. In costume, there’s a force that drives a good amount of us to stalk friends, family, even coworkers in costume. So tell me, what’s your favorite Shape Stalking moment?
My personal favorite is the time where I spent an hour wandering around the local Wendy’s I work at in my '78 Myers: 2018 Creep, Creepy Customs H1 Shape Suit, Vietnam Jungle Boots.
None of my coworkers saw me, or thought I was even there, in spite of how long I spent there, going past cameras and even past the lobby and drive thru windows.
Not quite. Closest I did was follow my friend from a-far because she dressed as Laurie, but never did full on stalking… Truth be told, while I like scaring people, I feel like hanging around a certain area in a full costume may lead to some worrisome results if the wrong people see it.
I don’t disagree. Doing it with random strangers, or folks you know who aren’t really aware it’s you under the mask, might set off alarm bells, or in a setting where it might be more socially acceptable (such as a Halloween carnival or festival, Trick or Treat Streets, etc.) is liable to get you in trouble. But doing it with friends, family, coworkers on properties you frequent (at home, at the workplace when it’s not busy, your street, etc.), and the people involved knowing it’s you in the costume? That’s more what I meant by having that urge to stalk around.
Maybe it’s also 'cause I work in haunted houses, and I enjoy being particularly unsettling ot creepy over “jumpscary” more.
I wasn’t in costume, but I scared an old friend where I was several feet away from him, I just walk up to him and am standing right behind him, he turns around and goes “Holy shit” and jumped from it
in costume I absolutely do stalk random people on Halloween night, but mainly to get a scare out of them, I follow for a block or two and then disappear. Outside of costume I don’t stalk, but I did and still do have this bad habit I picked up from my grandpa where I watch people cause I’m curious what they’re doing, and I’d follow out of curiosity, i very quickly stopped once I got older realized that’s weird and got my grandpa to stop, we still have a staring problem though lmao
An interesting habit. Reminds me of a friend I grew up with who’d do the same thing. That said, good on you for being as Shape-like as possible, pun fully intended.
I’ve stalked our neighborhood on Halloween night now for six years. In the last two years, I’ve started using a tiny speaker to play the Halloween score (40th anniversary track) while walking around. People love the music and when I’m near, many want a picture, even young kids. Some folks say “nope!” and keep walking. It’s one of my favorite experiences of the year. All I have is a TOTS 78, charcoal Red Kaps, Optics Planet Vietnam boots, and the TOTS 78 knife. I’d like to get a Creep for next year or have my extra 78 re-hauled.
On Halloween I hid behind trees and stared at trick or treaters while my gf passed out candy. It is satisfying. Couple years ago I walked around my neighbor hood but never did any real stalking. I might next year lol.
I think is something natural, everytime I wear my H2 in Halloween and I try to look like the character, stalking is an urge.
I live in Spain, so here the Halloween culture is recent, so people (mostly kids with their parents), walk by night for treat or treat looking for a good scare, my street is quite lonely and with poor illumination, a perfect spot to feel like Michael the night of Halloween.
I appear behind the trees or under a streetlight and move in the dark, breathing deeply… It’s kind of a tradition since 3 years ago.
