The unfortunate tale of trying to make Michael Myers 2018

These are all separate transactions with separate people:

  1. I bought a TOTS 2018 mask for above retail value and ruined it when trying to strip the paint, because parts of the paint were unremovable.
  2. I bought the screen accurate shoes from a retailer online, only to find out it was likely a scam, and I’m out that money.
  3. I bought another pair of shoes, this time the non-EARTH arctiv8 shoes, instead going for job black because they are close enough. 7 days later I receive a completely different brand.
  4. I bought the Gold Toe Men’s Crew Neck T-Shirt Heather Navy only to receive a black women’s Cami 9 days later.
  5. I ordered the Workrite Charcoal Coveralls, and after a week and a half of not receiving the item, no shipping confirmation, I call only to be told they are on backorder. Thanks for the notification…
  6. I ordered a male mannequin from ebay to display said costume. The seller’s item is removed from ebay and the seller deletes their account after I paid.
  7. Still can’t find a TOTS mask in store to try again on the mask.

The knife has yet to be delivered(it’s past the delivery date…). I’m not confident that it won’t be delivered to my jugular by Michael himself.

I was going to say, the next horrible happening seems to be loosing a finger while opening the packaging of the knife. :blush:

Sorry you’re going through all this. If you can’t find the 2018 mask in time, go for something custom! Cut up and dirty a cheapo Myers mask, buy some coveralls you like, etc. Have some fun with it!

Haven’t had the same awful luck you have but I’ve been really down after the TOTS debacle with the size of the mask. I was able to get the undershirt and already had coveralls that were close enough for me. The mask didn’t fit at all and I’m now stuck with my TOTS H2. It’s put a huge damper on my enthusiasm for the new film, though at the end of the day, Carpenter’s Halloween is perfect to me and needs not even one sequel. I’m going to re-repaint my second H2 for a more H1 feel and stalk our neighborhood as The Shape this Halloween night as I have the past few years I will one day get a replica of the new mask (assuming the movie isn’t crap) but it surely won’t be from TOTS.

Not trying to knock you as I try to look as accurate as possible as well but damn you went overboard a bit and that many unlucky happenstances has got to be nothing short of legendary. Sorry you’re out the money for the shoes but ebay should have a policy where you can get the mannequin money back. I don’t think you’ll be able to find a TOTS 2018 in stores though. I read on their facebook page they tried to convince Party City to order 10,000 as there would be demand but they went with only 8ooish for their 900 or so stores. I checked Spirit Halloween before I got mine in the mail and the had squat but who knows, you may get lucky.

Just don’t get on a plane with the remaining members of Lynard Skynard, it’ll probably crash into an orphanage at this point.

ebay takes good care of their buyers. You just file a complaint for “item not received”, and go from there. The seller gets a certain amount of time to respond, or they will just give you a refund.

I sell on ebay, and ebay almost ALWAYS sides with the buyers, even if they’re lying.

Holy Crap dude!! It’s like the perfect storm for things to go wrong. I would of folded up in the fetal position and started to suck my thumb in the corner!
