Hi all, I apologize if this has been answered before but I’d like to spray paint my H2 TOTS masks hair with black spray paint since thats what I understand they used in H1, just trying to convert it to an H1 mask. I’ve heard they just misted the top with it, but to anyone who has done this, can you offer more specific tips? Thanks!
They did not use black spray paint, it was black “streak n’ tips”, a spray-hair dye. I would suggest the following procedure:
- Lift hair up in “tramer” like style
- Spray bottom of hair
- flip hair down to desired style
- Mist the top of the hair
I’d do it like Shape said, too.
My mistake, you’re right, I just went over to your post about all things used in the series for Michael and saw they used streak n tips (amazing article by the way!) and thank you for the tips!

If you have a airbrush and compressor, I just use black acrylic paint watered down.

I’ve used it on TOTS H2 hair and it looked great and stays stiff for a while after you spray it. One can should be enough.
