Our pal Tony Moran (The Face Of Michael Myers) has been silent for a while, until this popped up. An insane podcast appearance on The Halloween Collector’s Podcast from December 2022…one that was so insane/vulgar that it was quickly removed from YouTube. We recently did a truncated watch along of it.
Hey guys we are having Sean Clark on LIVE tonight at 10pm est to discuss the entire Moran history plus talking about H45 here’s a link if you guys want to check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hdiYkZOU6PU
I wouldn’t give Tony Moran any more time at all. He’s been a train wreck for years and years, why give him any attention whatsoever. Best to say nothing and hopefully he’ll just disappear.
Stumbling upon this thread to discover that people don’t like Tony Moran… never would’ve guessed that. The guy was only in the movie for like four seconds. What’s the deal? Is he an asshole or something?
My booth was right beside Tony Moran and Tommy Lee Wallace about 13 years ago at a local convention. Tommy was an absolute delight. Even Tony’s handler, who often offered to grab me food whenever she’d run to grab something for him, was super sweet.
He, on the other hand, seemed miserable the entire weekend. He was constantly on his phone instead of paying attention to fans walking by. He’d also disappear for extended periods of time. Seemed like he was generally drinking fairly heavy throughout the show. The worst part was having to hear him take credit for being “The Shape”. Fans, who didn’t know better, of course, would walk up to him and talk about their favorite scenes from the film, memories they have of the movie, and generally make references to trivia that had absolutely nothing to do with Tony or his involvement. Yet, he constantly took credit for all of it and not once corrected anyone. He loved people thinking he portrayed Myers/The Shape throughout the entire weekend. It was pretty frustrating to hear it all day for three days straight when you know it’s all bullsh*t. I’ll say, he wasn’t nearly as bad then as he’s apparently become, but even before it got to his head like it has now, he was still pretty delusional and was cashing in off the misperception of casual fans.
Tommy, as I said above, was great. When the weekend started, he introduced himself and we chatted quite a bit. I told him how big a fan I was of, obviously, the Halloween films he was involved in, but also the IT miniseries from 1990. (Which is one of my all time favorites). When he first arrived and was setting up his booth, he realized he forgot his mask stands for his H3 trio he was planning on displaying at his booth. I noticed his dilemma and gave him a few stands from underneath my own masks. He was very appreciative and even tried to pay for them, to which I refused.
At the end of the weekend, we chatted as we tore down our displays and when he tried giving back the stands, I told him to keep them and take them to the next show. He was very appreciative. Just before he left, he snuck something onto my booth and gave me a wink as he we said our goodbyes.
