Not sure if others were already aware or not but I spoke with TOTS early last week and they have discontinued making this mask. :frowning: If you were ever wanting to convert one on the cheap, you better start snatching the rest of them up on eBay.

Oh wow!!! I noticed some of them had some weird spots below the chin. Wonder if their molds broke down.

Odd that Spock wasn’t. I wonder if they’re trying to squash the independent market?

I’m wondering that it became a licensing issue/cost to have rights for Shatner.

Unless they are going to re-release it with Blonde hair this time, it’s worth having them go out of production for now

I believe CBS is pulling their licenses. Trick or Teat talked about this 6 months ago on a podcast. Hell Fest, Twilight Zone and Star Trek was mentioned.

Better off ordering a Shat blank from Justin Mabry in my personal opinion.

Mabrys sculpt is fine it’s more tots making the pulls more bloated

I was wondering that cause looking at my boogeyman I got the impression that TOTS’ casts seem to lose a bit of detail especially on the cheek area.

Can’t complain for the price honestly but looking at photos of the Psycho it seems to have more prominent cheeks compared to the elrod, boogeyman and tramer.

Now the Kirk is a Creep of course but I imagine it’s the same thing where some of the detail got lost there.

Anyway my complaints with the Kirk, looking at it, are not necessarily the hair color, but how it’s placed on the mask, the sideburns especially are not accurate at all and I’ve seen many cool looking rehauls keeping that glue line that looks awful in my opinion, so I imagine that for a fully accurate conversion you have to go and remove all the glue and do your own glue line over it, which kinda ruins the whole point of “taking a Kirk as is and recreating the Shape, Tommy Lee Wallace style”.

Also in general it looks hideous compared to a real kirk, what’s up with the chewbacca eyebrows? If you’re not converting it but rather just want it for the sake of having a “kirk” it doesn’t look like it at all.

I imagine that if they wanna get around the license and still do a kirk for converting purposes, they could do a “Halloween 4 schoolhouse mask” release with another Kirk sculpt, kinda like how they did the Elrod originally to give people a H1 mask without the license.

I was wondering about this. Kind of sucks because every one on eBay is super expensive. Unless tots brings them back or I find one for the same price I’ll probably not end up owning a Shatner. Definitely not paying 100 bucks for one

Smart thinking. They should do the h4 School mask. Really hate to see this mask go. It’s not all that bad especially for rehaulers starting off.

Dang! I was wondering why I couldn’t find it on Amazon or eBay, or anywhere for that matter. Well atleast we had an easy DIY Myers mask for a little while.
