Some pics of the new H78 from TOTS taken at the NY Toyfair 2019. Overall I really like it, tho I’m a little unsure about the nose.
Looks like a good H1 mask. However the nose does look a little off. Long & pointy? Does this mask supposed to have a Castle Stretch going on?
What’s that knife below the H40? Is that a tots knife? Looks good from here like real metal
That knife does look good. Believe TOTS is finally getting things right.
I kind of agree about the nose. You know what’s weird? In that pic the H1 looks very close in size to the h40. That’s strange bc when I saw them it looked much bigger. Maybe it’s bc the h40 was higher on the rack than the H1
Really does look like a clean h40 mask in these oics. Dont know if it was done intentionally but thats what it looks like to me.
that first shot, looks fantastic
I dig it. Not so much on the hairline though.
I think the mask looks ok, Just a really bad hairline. That would definitely need to be fixed.
The only thing that really bothers me about the mask is the eye cuts, they just look too big in my opinion.
Tots had the chance to make “the” definitive h1 mass produced mask . I just really feel they blew it. It just looks like another night owl sculpt, and nothing else.
I think it’s their 1978 knife. Apparently the protos are metal vac’d, so we’ll see what production looks like later this year

Yeah they’re awesome! They feel like real metal!!
I would be interested in seeing what an overhauled tots 78 mask would look like when they come out.
I think it looks great. $60 well spent. If I was looking for a more accurate mask, I’d buy a NAG or something.

Totally agree- for $60, it’s pretty damn good for the price. I’m glad I preordered. Here’s another pic for you guys:
Nose looks alot better in that shot. And for the eyeholes, remember, TOTS always paints their masks eyeholes with a line of black paint around the hole. It makes them look larger, especially if there is more black behind the mask. Just like the 2018 mask, every mask will have it’s own unique little look to it. I’m so excited to finally have a semi-decent H1 mask, and I didn’t have to break the bank for it. Sorry guys, not everyone can afford to pay $500 for a piece of latex

Thats the thing with hobbies. When I was into electric trains it was fun UNTIL everyone wanted a train that was EXACTLY like the real one! Thats when the fun went out of it. For me at least. Counting every rivet. Same thing with this hobby.I take the TOTS masks for what they are. A representation of the original. Not every thing on a TOTS mask is going to be like the real thing and for 60 bucks I accept that. We start nit picking and we drive ourselves crazy over it.
I’m going to use mine for a life size Michael decoration. It’s really good for that.
