TOTS H2 REHAIR & PAINT

Hello everyone, It’s been a while. Happy Friday the 13th! Last year I ordered both versions of the TOTS H2 masks. They were very nice in the sculpt, but the mass produced hair and paint detail always kind of bothered me. Because it is a mass produced item I know that it’s not cost effective for TOTS to spend a lot of time on the details for a budget mask. The masks are really cool and I’m so happy that accurate masks are available to the public. Well here is the story of my little experiment in re-hairing one of them. First off last year I tried combing the hair… :open_mouth: BIG MISTAKE, as most of it came off. Duh! By the time Halloween had rolled around I had gotten my MM78 done up by the master James Carter :stuck_out_tongue: So the TOTS went into storage. Well Halloween 2 has a very special place in my heart so I wanted to get another mask, but it is very expensive for me right now. :frowning: The NAG 75K, as per Mr. Carter it’s the best mask to convert into an H2, but that will have to wait till better financial times.

Anyway here are some pics of my adventure with he re-hair, I have to tell you that I have developed an even bigger respect for what J.C. and others who dedicate themselves to the hobby of Michael Myers masks have to do to get these out the door and to their very appreciative clients. This is a bit pick heavy but I’m pretty proud of this accomplishment. As I said it is a real pain in the ass, and this final is my third attempt in 2 days. :open_mouth: The hair is synthetic so it took a lot of work to get it matted down. I used a gel that is called believe it or not…Gorilla Snot, and I spayed the hell out of it with super duper hair spray. Remember this is my first time ever doing this, I’m not a pro, so any advice will be greatly appreciated. Enjoy the pics and let me know how I did.

Well I realize that the pics I posted weren’t that great, so all the hard work that I put in to this project wasn’t visible. I wasn’t done with the hair either, but I wanted to share what I have done. The following pics are much better, not great cuz my camera’s not that great. But here you go.

I’d say that’s a mighty fine job for your first refinishing job. Definitely showings of a bright future for you.

Thanks so much, I appreciate your kind comment.

Looks good! How about a worn shot?

Looks good for the first attempt! Thanks for sharing!

Good going my friend! You did really well for your first time out! I know you were a little apprehensive about jumping on the hair, but you did a great job and I can’t wait to see what you tackle next.

Thanks everyone, and thanks JC! You are the man brother. It was both fun and annoying, but I guess not so bad in the end. I don’t know if I’ll make a career out of it, :stuck_out_tongue: but I may try others in the future. I will post some worn shots before the weekend is over.

Heck yeah dude. Very nice job first time out :sunglasses: I can see many things to come in the future :pumpkin:

Thanks everyone!
