I really like the TOTS h5 mask… I think it has great potential. let’s face it, the mask in the movie wasn’t exactly the best made mask, it was a mess of stuck on parts… padding and weird cuts in the back.
The only thing I don’t like about the tots mask are the eye cuts, they are too large and the wrong shape. Unsalvageable in my opinion… shame.
ill definatley be buying a couple to mess around with though!

actually, looking again at the tots h5, it looks like they maybe used the ‘infamous’ mirrored promotion shots of the screen used mask as reference… and thus got the eyes the wrong way around!
Interesting! I’m personally not feeling it on the TOTS H5. I think it looks close enough to pull off the look, but it just doesn’t seem to totally have it, in my eyes. Now I will say that in the recent in person video showing all the new TOTS Myers masks for this year, the H5 looks better than the catalog image did, in my opinion. I think it’s because of all those odd modifications to the real mask that makes the H5 so hard to get right, but I think the TOTS H5 will do the job.
I think it’s great that there’ll be a cheap movie mold H5 option. Even if the eye cuts are off, a nice repaint/re-hair in the proper stuffing could pull off the look great. Imo, most of the reason why the H5 isn’t replicated well is because when Don wears the mask he gives it a “castle stretch“ of sorts. Something most wearers don’t do, as well as something that isn’t sculpted in often

The only thing that looks off to me are the lips…they seem too skinny. Otherwise it looks like a great sculpt.
For 60 bucks i don’t think you can beat it!
In the photos from HorrorCon, something about the cheeks kinda look like he just got his wisdom teeth out and is a bit swollen, but I think that’s just because it’s hanging loose on a little styrofoam head. With proper stuffing and also being sat down on some shoulders, I think it’ll help widen out the neck too. Still a really great sculpt tho imo!
No, the KNB pull they used already had the eyes cut out so they left them that way for the proto since they had to rush it for the expo.
J did mention he wanted to tweek it a little more just recently.
From what I’ve seen it actually looks far better in person that it does on the TOTS site. I’m actually considering buying one.

I’m actually really liking the TOTS H5. I do think it’s great that there is finally one commercially available. I’ve always loved 5 and loved the mask in 5 and when I heard that TOTS was making one, I knew I had to eventually jump on one. Planning on eventually getting one.
Im looking forward to it, i’ve never owned an H5 because i never liked it enough to spend the $$$ on the high end copies.
I was just watching H5 and i never noticed the Thorn drawn on the wall in the background when he breaks thru the door and kills charlie the cop.
I feel they should switch to a different hair. The hair on them now is just atrocious. Looks like they glued some cheap spirit halloween woman wig on. The lips also could use some tweaking. Although its not bad especially considering how limited options are for a screen accurate H5 mask.
I agree that there are definitely some things off about it. The lips are small, the surface is very porous, and the nose doesn’t quite have the right profile. But I don’t think it’s unsalvageable by any means. It’s a great base for some TLC. I’ve seen a few tremendous rehauls, including one on eBay very recently. This is my rehaul and I’m well pleased with the results.
