I know the new TOTS 1978 mask is pretty large, but the sculpt isn’t great. Are there any other masks that large that would make a good H1?
I am not sure, most are smaller. That’s a shame you don’t think the sculpt is that great. I think it’s pretty solid and have been able to get some really good H1 style shots in it with the proper lighting and what not. I found it to be very good at the Nick Castle stretch look.

I agree man. I think the sculpt looks nothing like it. The eyes are way too big too. Ive seen people make better looking H1 masks with the H2 mask… that H2 sculpt is actually the cheapest most accurate myers sculpt to date, I think its still the best myers mask tots have done. This sculpt though I honestly cant see what people think is so accurate about it. I keep doing side by sides and again there is nothing about it to me that replicates anything about the original mask except for maybe one or two things and even then they arent that big of a deal. The eye cuts just throw it off completely for me aswell

The H1 is pretty cool mask. It growed on me very fast after I seen what it could do. :myers:

Looks like a spectre!
The largest mask that TOTS offers is their H2 Deluxe. I believe some copies to be 25"+. If converted, since the base sculpt is the NightOwl Lunatic, it can make for a very nice H1 mask. I am unsure of the size of the TOTS Kirk but it is by far the most accurate H1 when converted as its base is the NightOwl Creep. The Elrod is the NightOwl Psycho and is also an awesome H1 but is on the smaller side. If you want a base H1 without overhauling it and want a mass-produced mask I would recommend looking at the new H1 sculpt again. I agree about the eyes but I have seen some basic weathering make the sculpt look amazing. Aside from that though I can really only recommend higher end indy masks as they come in sizes 25" and even 25.5" upon request. Best of luck.
It’s not accurate. It’s a custom sculpt. It is what it is. It’s intended to look like the photo of Myers looking over the banister. It’s not meant to be a Kirk or a universal H1 look. You either like it, or you don’t. That’s the beauty of having several options. The shots I have been able to get with it look great to me. I personally love the look of the mask.
As far as mass produced goes, for “accuracy”, the re-tooled Elrod/ now Boogeyman, is the more accurate version of an H1, due to its ties to an original Kirk. Or you can get the TOTS Kirk and convert it, since it’s technically a Night Owl Creep. That’s the best part, there are options.
I don’t love the 78 either, but it’s probably the best mass produced H1 in a large size that you’ll see.
I had a TOTS H2 Deluxe converted to an H1 that came out really good(it’s a nice large mask as well)but I think some of the 78 overhauls are better.
It is pretty great for a mass produced mask, and I am glad they finally made one not kid-sized as I have a bigger head so most of them are tiny and I can barely get them on. This new 78 is the same size as the H2 deluxe, (24.5/25) and it looks very close to it as well but is $10 more at Spirit for some reason. It looks almost like a clean H2 with similar sculpting lines and has the same forehead indentation even. I like as it is for the clean whiter look, but some weathering, paint misting on the hair, and some shadowing added to the cheekbones etc would really make it pop.
I’m with you SirBrad, large masks are nice. I’m 6’3" and 230, not a beast, but a lot of great masks are just too tight for my noggin. The H2 Deluxe gives me the room I need.
I ordered a '78 and will have it rehauled. As much as I like my rehauled H2(see pic below), I’m pretty sure the '78 is going to look a lot better based on the rehauls I’ve already seen.

You can get a decent Castle look out of a TOTS Kirk by stuffing the neck and leaving the chin empty.
I’m still refining mine, but the ‘puffiness’ of the TOTS Kirk compared to a Shat/Creep makes it look a bit like a head is already in it:

Some socks stuffed at the back of the jaw in this case. The ‘open mouth’ look is proving more elusive. Hard to stretch, this latex.
Those wide eyes on the TOTS H78 are quite distracting. It looks great apart from that, and doesn’t required careful lighting to stand out.
Resurrecting an old thread…
I bought a TOTS 1978 mask sometime last year and it definitely is a “larger” size – I wear 7-3/4 fitted New Era baseball hats, and my 78 mask fits me with ease and has room to spare. The mask did have a LOT of hair (too much), and I eventually took it all off and re-did the hair.
Fast forward to yesterday: I was at Spirit Halloween for their 50% off sale and I bought another TOTS 1978 mask. The paint job was pretty good, but the thing I really like was the fact that this mask had much less hair, so it could easily be styled and not be too “poofy.” And when I got the mask home and tried it on I got another pleasant surprise – it was much smaller than the mask I got last year. I prefer that because that’s how the original movie mask was, as I understand. This new mask fits snug to my head and allows for the best Castle stretch.

I’ve been hearing that the 78s are smaller now. Can anyone confirm this? I was just getting ready to order one, but if they shrunk, there goes that option.
I’m not a fan of the TOTS H1 Stretch either. It has such a goofy look to it. I can’t take it serious! As for a large H1 mask I would recommend the Boogeyman. It’s fairly big.
I second the TOTS Kirk. Very nice mask. If you decide to get it, order it from Nightmaretoys.com tell Kristy Adams you want a good copy or else you may end up with a bad bloated copy. Hope this helps ![]()
anyone know the specific size of the tots Kirk or boogeyman? I got a big head and don’t wanna buy it if it won’t fit me
