My first mask was a TOTS H2 and when it arrived, I have to say I was disappointed. The hair was barely glued on, falling off and the paint job looked really bad to me. (kinda clownish) I was really looking forward to finally getting a screen accurate mask for a reasonable price but it just didn’t do it for me. I shelled out the extra cash for a Warlock and I am much happier. The mask is bad a** and worth the extra money to me. Question for you guys is: Do you like the TOTS H2 or would you guys pay more to get a Warlock or other custom made mask?
BTW, no disrespect to TOTS. This is just my opinion of the mask that I received.
No disrespect, how would you take it? Keep in mind that you are comparing $60 mask to a $350 mask, aka approximately 360% more expensive, not really apples to apples. Appreciate the comment. Love it when new members come on the board and rip my company that worked it’s ass off to get a decent affordable Myers in stores. You’re welcome! And I know that some of you guys are going to tell me to ignore comments like this, but I’m sick of it. I want to see you make something and than have people tear you apart! It sucks! If you don’t have anything positive to say, keep to yourself. And what is the point of your question, you already bought the Warlock!
It’s kind of a ridiculous comparison, no disrespect. A $325 mask vs a $59 mask? If you even have to ask the question then TOT did a great job of making a Myers mask. If you can find a better mask within $50 of this one please show it to me. I don’t blame Chris for getting upset. He busted his ass to make this happen for us and some of you still don’t get it.
Mr.Zephro Dont be angry. I have my TOTS Halloween 2 mask and i think that you done the best job ever for a $60 mask. I love it to bits! If you read my thread “Best Halloween Ever” you will see that your mask scared people so much i nearly got arrested, LOL. But dont be angry man, I love your mask to bits and so does many other people. Just remember, we cant please everyone. But you sir, have please mostly everyone ~~MichaelMyersFan1oo1
You sure dont take customer feedback very well. You know, not everyone is going to be pleased.
As a business, you have to take the good and bad and take what customers say and see what can be done to improve.
Your masks are mass produced in a Mexican factory on cheap labor.
I have seen pictures of the hair on some of these masks and they are not the best job. I have seen some with it falling off as easily as trying to hand comb it back.
Just because you only charge so much for your product, doesn’t mean customers have to take what they get and be satisfied. That’s a piss poor attitude in business. Who cares if he is new. He has the same right to opinion on the product he spent his money on as does the member who has 4000 posts who bought one.
I agree you cant compare a $350 mask to a TOTS, but you need to stop coming down on customers who gave you their money and telling them they got Gold for the price of Aluminum
There maybe many on this forum who can afford $350 masks, and then there are those who just about can come up with the $70 TOTS. But even at $70, to many that is not cheap. That’s a tank of gas today and when you walk into a Halloween store and see $30 masks all over that are just as good in production quality, $70 is a big jump.
I think it speaks for itself when you already see TOTS ‘overhauls’ …
I see Nag overhauls and Nightowl overhauls all over this board. Are you telling me those masks are inferior too? Most of those $30 masks don’t have to pay royalties like Chris has to pay Universal so you get a higher retail price. I like it when people who actually create things stick up for their hard work and don’t let others walk all over them especially when those complaining don’t know what they are talking about. Chris didn’t give up his right to defend his work because he opened up a business. It’s actually refreshing in the Myers retail world that somebody ACTUALLY CARES about their product and takes pride in their work and not just cares about cashing in on the Myers name.
So essentially, nobody should have complaints about a product they buy and Chis should harp them for doing so ? All because he has to pay this or that in royalties to get a product out there. I dont care how much something is. That doesn’t make it right to come down on those who are not satisfied. Those excuses are piss poor and on a business standpoint, are ridiculous.
It’s fine to stick up for your product. You should. But when someone is not satisfied, they have the right to speak up about the product they paid for.
The way some people here are sticking up for TOTS, I have to ask if you guys have ever bought something and were not happy about it and did nothing ? Or did you make your concern known to the product maker ? That’s all that was done here and the guy got tomatoes thrown at him.
TOTS did a great job! and the sculpt itself is amazing. If you really felt that bad about spending $60 on the mask you definitely could have had any of the top guy in the mask business like JC, WMP, NAG, hell the list could go on but they could have gave you the paint job you wanted for the price you just spent on both masks plus some… Just don’t compare a $60 mask to a $300 plus mask. It’s your masks and your money tho so as long as you’re happy good for you!
I myself am very pleased with it and glad that there is an affordable Myers mask that actually looks like Myers and not some clown like we have seen in the past from mass produced masks.
I think the point that Chris was trying to make is that his mask is $60 and the Warlock is $350 thats a BIG difference and the guy is complaining about a $60 mask (which I think is a brilliant deal for a fantastic mask) and he’s complaining and comparing it to a $350 mask! Its like comparing a paper made mask to the warlock. the paper made mask is very cheap and the warlock is very expensive so there is no need to complain. It’s not like he’s getting ripped off. If he paid ALOT of money and he wasnt satisfied, then fine. But Theres no need to compare and complain with this mask especially considering the price.
In my opinion. I think the TOTS Mask is great! Im sticking up for Chris because I think he did a great job.
If you have some complaint then contact Chris personally. Why take it public? If you want to take it public then Chris has the right to defend his product publicly without you telling him how to act. It’s a two way street. If you don’t want it then don’t give it out in a open public forum. And honestly what in the hell is there to complain about? Maybe you dig the old Don Post masks that look like they had a stroke but 99% of us didn’t and are more than happy with his product.
Cheap labor? What a presumptuous statement! I’m sorry, do you know my cost structure? For your information, and I sure as hell don’t have to share this with you, it’d cost me less to make the masks in the USA.
I make them in Mexico because I’m using a factory that has 50 years of experience and can make consistent quality on a 10,000+ production run. Also, we are the biggest employer in the city where my factory resides in Mexico and we have won awards 40 years in a row for being the number one paying factory in the country and best place to work. The average employee has been there for 27 years! 27 YEARS!!
And “$30 masks all over that are just as good in production quality”, let’s see those pictures, because I sure as hell can’t find them anywhere!
My whole argument is to compare a $60 mask to $350 mask is idiotic! Get an apples to apples Myers mask comparison and rip me apart, I could care less!
Oh by the way, I will be posting a comparison review of my BMW verses my Ferrari in the Off Topic section later today. By the way, I don’t own either car, it’s a joke!
I think it’s ridiculous that this argument is taking place in the first place. I love the TOTS Halloween II mask. The Warlock looks great as well. Why waste time comparing them, price, where they were made and how they were made aside, when both are individually excellent pieces of work? Chris, I’m not saying ignore the comment, but look at it like this: for every one negative comment about your mask there are hundreds more praising it. You and your company did a fantastic job. Please, don’t let two posts ruin everything you’ve accomplished.
the tot masks are fantastic and i own almost every myers mask
also bought the signed tot mask the other day
chris make a new mask, a new version for next halloween!!
last line killed, be comparing my BMW to my Ferrari, damn bro… lol ps… TOTs were my first, now i am almost 800 into masks… lol i have seen only a few less than good MM ToTs, all of them are at party city… idk why, hell i own alot of ToT and used them in my Haunt aswell. chiller, and sewer monster killed it…
There maybe many on this forum who can afford $350 masks, and then there are those who just about can come up with the $70 TOTS. But even at $70, to many that is not cheap. Really? You walked into a Halloween store and “see” $30 masks comparible to the TOTS H2 mask? Was that on this planet or some other?? Anyone with any knowledge of the Michael Myers mask knows hands down that as far as mass produced Myers masks (DPS and Cinema Secrets) the TOTS H2 mask is a quantum leap from anything else available that is licensed and mass produced for puplic consumption. ANYONE bad-mouthing this mask has no idea what an accurate mass produced Myers mask should look like and should probably buy the lame-ass $30 masks you saw collecting dust in the Halloween store you shopped at.
First of all, I was not trying to call out anyone on this forum. I had no idea that the maker of the TOTS mask was a moderator on this site. I do apologize for that. Having said that, I’m aware that one mask is $70 and one is $235 but you are gonna tell me that just because the mask only costs $70 it’s ok for the hair to only be glued down in 3 spots while the rest falls out? That’s just crazy man. I’m glad that a lot of people on here are happy with their masks, unfortunately mine was sub par. Anyway, sorry if I offended anyone here…it was not my intention.
